Betty Ann Fhlug
Chilton, WI

Betty Ann Fhlug, age 83, of Chilton, died on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Tiboli Nursing Home in Portage, Wisconsin.  She was born January 19, 1934 in Franklin, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Albert & Ida (Wielk) Stelzner.

She graduated from Waterford High School and later married Arno Fhlug on June 18, 1955 in Waterford, Wisconsin. The couple farmed together in the Town of Brothertown; he preceded her in death on December 8, 1995.  During those years, Betty also worked at Tecumseh in New Holstein.

She was a former member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton, was a huge Green Bay Packer fan, enjoyed listening to Polka Music and in her younger years, she also played the accordion.

Her greatest joy was that of being a mother.  She devoted her life to their care keeping them fed and in clothes; with 8 children it was a large labor of love.

She is survived by her children: Fritz (Charlene) Fhlug, Leroy Fhlug, Nancy (Rick) Simones, Pat (Merlin) Lisowe, Gene (Carol) Fhlug, Gordon (Lori) Fhlug, Donna Fhlug; 10 grandchildren: Jolene & Adam Fhlug, Duane Simones, Lisa Rinhart, Eric & Chad Fhlug, Mallory & Alexander Fhlug, Craig & Tyler Fhlug; and her 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son: Wallace Fhlug.

Funeral service will be at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Christensen officiating.  Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2017.
My sincere condolences to the family for your loss. May the promises in God’s word provide you with comfort and strength during this most difficult time. John 5:28-29
