Claude’s family would like to thank the residents and staff of Century Ridge who have added years to Claude’s life and have added abundant life to those years.
As a child and adult I would admit I did not know my uncle and godfather well. We lived in different busy worlds and our paths hardly crossed. When he got moved to assisted care, I decided to try to "make his day" by visiting him on a Chilton trip. After several visits I got to appreciate my uncle who was humorous, compassionate, appreciative, and a proud Family man. This was a good lesson in reaching out to the elderly because after the first visit with him, I came to realize that he was "making my day"
My deepest sympathy goes out to all family members, since he will be greatly missed. May his spirit be with anyone who reads this.
I wish family members and friends the best in coping with their loss.
With sympathy, (nephew) Paul Schlaefer

Paul schlaefer (Nephew/godchild) - Aug. 14, 2017

My best memory of my brother was his laugh. It came rolling out between between his rapid style of talk. He was a very fun brother to have and I can hear him laughing while I think about it.
I would like to extend deep sympathy to all family members and I wish them the best in coping with their loss.
I am very sorry that I was unable to make it to the funeral to help comfort other family members. God bless all. Lucy Cole

To the entire Kampfer family, i wish you peace in our time of loss. I have many fond memories of growing up across the road from Claude and Joan and family. In the later years I enjoyed my visits with Claude when I would run into him at Century Ridge.

Claude was so nice to me when I worked at Century Ridge. He was a really great guy and always so gracious.
