George F. Diana, age 75, of Menasha, died on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at his home in Menasha.  He was born September 19, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Marian & Gladys (Nondorf) Diana.  George married Darleen Ann Jaschob on June 25, 1966, in West Bend, Wisconsin and they had recently celebrated 50 years together.
From playing pinochle to researching the family tree to telling stories about growing up working on his grandparent’s farm, George loved his family and spending time with them.  When his children were younger, the family would drag him along camping where he excelled at making the camp breakfasts (much to their enjoyment and his chagrin).  Grandchildren were a true joy to George’s life and he looked for ways to be involved in their lives as well.  He enjoyed picking them up at school every day when they were in grade school and giving them sound advice as they grew into adulthood.
The outdoors was where you would most likely find George and he was a proud “mini-farmer.”  He was well known for his gardening and time spent planting a variety of trees.   His love for gardening, planting and outdoors has spread to his children and grandchildren who will continue this tradition.
George taught in the Kimberly School District for over 30 years where he taught Industrial Arts and Math.  As a pioneer, George also implemented the use of Apple computers in the classroom as they were first becoming readily available.  He also taught Driver’s Education but retired after going through the experience of teaching his youngest daughter to drive.
Survivors include his wife and best friend: Darleen; his children: Tim (Leah) Diana, Janine Diana and her significant other, Jason Hecker, Renee (Stuart Armstrong) Diana, Bryan (Jill) Diana, Susanne (Jesse Van Schyndel) Diana; 5 grandchildren: Nolan & Evan Diana, Lashia & Chance McCullom, Killian Armstrong and several faithful and furry companions.  George is further survived by many siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: Gladys Diana.

Per George's wishes, no formal ceremony will be held. Private family gatherings are taking place. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we would ask that you plant a tree in memory of George.
I taught with George for many years and found him to be a kind and caring person.

George was a great brother in law gave me good advice after my husband died. My kids remember the camping trips especially sitting around the campfire singing old McDonald had a farm. Got quite loud at times.

As a long-time friend of the Diana family, I am filled with loving memories of George Diana. He laughed at our (Renee & I were college roommates) mischief in college - and that's what I will probably remember the most, his humor and laugh. His laugh was contagious!! Love you, Mr. Diana!
