James A. “Jim” Bechlem, age 57, of Chilton, died on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.  He was born August 20, 1960 in Chilton, son of the late Henry & Cyrilla (Thiel) Bechlem.  

Jim was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton.

He is survived by his sisters: Barbara (Larry) Van Dyke, Suzanne (George) Schroeder, Carol (Wayne) Olson; and his nieces and nephews: Stacey Buechel, Shawn Olson, Christopher Van Dyke, Melissa Knoop, Nicole Ludwig, Stephanie Schroeder and Adam Schroeder.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: Delores Hughes.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Jon Christensen officiating.  Entombment will be in the Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Jim always tried to keep an upbeat, happy face.. deep down he was very caring and sensitive. jim is and will be missed. my condolence extends to his family.
