Kimberly K Hawker
Appleton, WI

Kimberly Karol Hawker, 56, died on April 14, 2017 at her home in Appleton. She was born May 8, 1960 to Lavern and Verna (Koelker) Hawker in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Throughout her life, Kimberly worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Outside of work she was a bit of an artist with a flair for painting and drawing; she also enjoyed collecting antiques.

Kimberly was very devoted to her children and they know she would have done anything for them. She always made Brandon and Liz aware that she was extremely proud of them and she raised her son and daughter to be independent and self-reliant. Kimberly’s devotion and admiration extended to her granddaughter, Kayleigh. Kimberly loved her deeply and her face lit up whenever she spoke of her grandchild.

Kimberly is survived by her children: Elizabeth “Liz” Poehlein (special friend, Russ Hoelzel), and Brandon (Krysta) Poehlein; her mother, Verna Hawker; and her granddaughter, Kayleigh Hoelzel.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Lavern Hawker, and her sister, Debra Renaud.

A memorial service will be held from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W Main St.) in Chilton on Thursday, April 20, 2017.
Alot of memories were made over the years since we were all kids. Our parents became friends and memories were made after. Sometimes life takes us all in different directions, but our memories will always be there. Working at the Knob with your Mom and later years my wife Gina would work with her at Oakridge. Liz, Brandon and family we are all thinking of you with prayers and peace. Rest easy Kim.

Brandon and Liz, You have been apart of our family for so long that I can't even remember how long it's been that you all came into our lives. Your mom was a super sweet person who loved you kids more than anything. She is loved, and we will miss her very much. Our thoughts are with you all.

I worked with Kim at Oakridge. She had a kind heart. I hope she is free of the things that that bound her here on earth. And I hope the fond memories you have of her bring you comfort through the difficult moments that you will go through.

Brandon & Liz, thinking of you both during this difficult time. I certainly had many laughs and chats with your mom at the sports events you kids were in. She was a good lady and certainly meant well. Know now that she is at peace and will be your "special" angel watching over all of you. Hugs to you both !!

Brandon and Liz, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She always had a smile and hello every time I saw her. Even when she was in a hurry she took the time to ask about my kids and chat alittle. She was always a good friend and I'm so saddened by her leaving this earth. She now walks with the Angels. Praying for peace and comfort.
Love,

Kimberly was a kind hearted soul. She worked with me in nursing and became very attached to her patients. We have laughed and cried together. She loved her family and would light up whenever she spoke of them.
