Richard E Krueger
Hilbert, WI

Richard E. “Dick” Krueger, age 80, life-long resident of Hilbert, pass away peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer on Saturday, January 27th. He was born March 26, 1937, son of the late Reuben and Anne (Eckes) Krueger.

A farmer since the day he was born, he started with his parent’s small dairy farm where they milked cows by hand. Always looking to grow and expand to the present day where he cropped over 1,000 acres and produced feed for over 400 dairy cows at Krueger Dairy Farms, LLC. Field work was the joy of his life. Nothing was better than riding in a tractor from sun-up to sun-down.

Dad loved the simple things in life---spending time with his family, drinking Pepsi, eating-especially sweets, playing with his dog Sassy, watching TV in his recliner, going to town, and driving around in his nice farm truck checking out the fields. He always had a humorous story to tell and could make everyone laugh. He never let the cancer take away his positive outlook on life. Dad always lived by the motto-“Better days ahead!”.

Survivors include his children: Sue (Stan) Zdanovec, John (Lori) Krueger, Paul (Kerri) Krueger, Kay (Ron) Biese, Mary Jo (Bob) Parkins, Mike Krueger and his special friend Danielle Heller; a daughter-in-law: Lisa Krueger; his grandchildren: Amber, Aubree, Zach, Whitney, Ashley, Kyle, Paige, Nick, Brooklyn, Taylor, Brandon, Blake, Kira, Kolton, Kody, Karsen, Lauren, Stephanie, Megan, Kirsten, and great-grandchildren: Martin and Jensyn.

Dick was preceded in death by his son Jim and his siblings Florence Londre, Adeline Klotz, and Donald Krueger.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood with Rev. Michael Betley officiating.  Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 and again on Friday at the church from 9:00 am until 10:45 am  when the funeral mass will be held.  A Parish Prayer Service will take place at the close of the visitation Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Special thanks goes out to Father Mike and Calumet County Hospice for their support. Dad’s final wish was to stay at home and Mike and Danielle put their lives on hold for months to grant this wish.

As Dad would always say as we left his house or he left ours “Take ‘er Cool!”. We will sure miss you Pops.

Memorials given in Richard E. “Dick” Krueger’s name are appreciated for Brain Cancer Research or the Humane Society.

When I think of Uncle Dick, I think of his wonderful zense of humor. He loved to joke around with his neices, nephews, and his children.
