Theresa S Schaefer
Chilton, WI

Theresa Sophie Schaefer, age 92, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Century Ridge in Chilton.  She was born October 15, 1925 in Marytown, daughter of the late Joseph & Claire (Casper) Meier.  Theresa married Donald A. Schaefer on June 26, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marytown; he preceded her in death on September 4, 2014.

Theresa’s faith was of utmost importance to her throughout her entire life.  She was a  faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly Holy Trinity Parish in Jericho.

During her working years, Theresa kept the books for Don’s trucking business, Don Schaefer Trucking.  This quiet and caring woman dedicated her entire life to the care of her family and the raising of her children.  With family first in her life, Theresa looked forward to every opportunity she could spend with them whether it was at the family cottage in Crivitz, playing a game of Sheepshead or Bridge, or sitting down for a home cooked meal.  In her free time, Theresa put her creativity to good use creating warm quilts and soft afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Dave (Miriam) Schaefer, Joan (Don) Rowan, Mary (Mark) Ortmayer, Daniel (Linda) Schaefer, Lois Schaefer; a daughter-in-law: Jane Schaefer; a son-in-law: Glen Beiser; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  She is further survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Donald; a son: Michael Schaefer; a daughter: Patricia Beiser; a grandchild: Chad Schaefer; and her 4 brothers: Elmer, Bob, John & Alphonse Meier.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating.  Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Jericho.  Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Theresa S. Schaefer.

Theresa’s family would like to thank the entire staff and resident’s of Century Ridge.  Your kindness and care will never be forgotten.
I have such fond memories of the fun times we all had at the Schaefer house during our high school years. Your Mom was such a sweet welcoming kind of lady to all of us goofy kids of the 60's. All great memories. Hugs and prayers to the whole Schaefer family especially my classmate Joanie during this difficult time. Sorry I can't make any of the services

I remember Aunt Terry as a very special person - very loving, kind, warm-hearted and loved by all. I have always been extremely proud to share the same name with her. For me, she was a true role model and I know that her presence and loving influence will be missed by all. My love and prayers to our dear cousins and all of her family.

Terry Meier Schmitt (Niece) - Nov. 9, 2017

Aunt Terry was such a great lady! She was always kind, attentive, and tolerant of the antics some of us pulled when we got together! I also remember she had a good sense of humor and never seemed hesitant to smile or laugh. To each of my cousins and your families - my heartfelt condolences and prayers for God's presence in this time of mourning. I shared with Mary my belief that the shortest verse in the Bible is a source of strength - "Jesus wept.". If the Creator of the universe can weep, I figure that we can too...I mourn with you. Bob

Bob Meier (Nephew) - Nov. 8, 2017

I will always remember Aunt Terry as a sweet, kind, gentle and loving woman who came from a great family and raised a similarly great family. Sincere condolences to all, especially my cousins who we all see too infrequently but who will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I am thinking of all of you...and remembering all the fun Christmas's we had traveling to Fond du lac and Chilton in the 50's-60's and 70's. Let's not forget about the annual family reunions at High Cliff State Park ...climbing the tower, playing softball with the uncles! Such great times. Your mom was such a kind, gentle woman and it's evident in all of her children. Prayers to all of you!

Donna Meier Bohm (Niece) - Nov. 8, 2017

What wonderful memories I have from the 60's and 70's with time spent with the Schaefer family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Your Mom was a true treasure!
