Agnes Woelfel
Chilton WI
Agnes Woelfel, of Chilton, died peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Frontida Liberty House in Fond du Lac. She was born on October 30, 1936, daughter of the late Nicholas and Adeline (Bangart) Mueller. She married Harold Woelfel on November 10, 1956, and they shared many happy and loving years together, until his passing in 2020.
Agnes spent much of her early working years doing factory work at Tecumseh Products. Later in life she pursued an office career and spent many years as a secretary for Farm Bureau/Rural Insurance, where she made lifelong friendships until her retirement in 2014.
Agnes had many hobbies throughout her lifetime. For many years she could be seen riding bike around town, putting on lots of miles. During the holiday season she was known for sharing her love of candy-making with family, friends and businesses. Being that she was an avid gardener, she always had an overabundance to share with family, friends and neighbors. Somehow her little garden could produce more vegetables than what most people could get out of a large garden! She also enjoyed knitting, and would gift her beautiful blankets for weddings, anniversaries, baptisms, and any other occasion she could find to share her talent for knitting. And, on less active days, Agnes could be found reading a good book, or working on one of her many puzzles.
Agnes enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all the years of renting a cabin up north in the summer with her children, grandchildren and other close relatives. The week was spent watching the kids play at the beach, frying up the fish that everyone caught, playing an intense game of spoons, enjoying laughs around the campfire, and most importantly, making a morning trip to the bakery to pick up a huge box of doughnuts for all to share!
But, most of all, Agnes was known for the special love she had for her kitties. That special love was shared with Patch, Snookie, Tommy Boy, Lucy and last, but not least, Freddie, who she leaves behind. She had always wanted to live long enough to care for her Freddie to the end, but that was not meant to be….he will miss her dearly.
Agnes will be greatly missed by her children: Deb (Ed) Wenig, Sandy (Mike) Popp, and Lori (Gordy) Fhlug; her grandchildren: Kelly (Robe) Wenig, Christopher Wenig (fiancee Kimberly), Renee (Bob) Vickman, Andrew (Marissa) Wenig, Nicole (Gus) Garcia, Brian (Amber) Popp, Craig Fhlug (special friend Danielle), and Tyler (Beth) Fhlug; her great-grandchildren: Edward, Theodore, Walter, Ida, Evelyn, Myra, Clara, Garrett, Gavin, Graham, Wyatt, Ava, Cecelia, Bristol and Tate; siblings: John Mueller, Bob (Marilou) Mueller, Eddie (Candy) Mueller, Mary (Paul) Fritsch, and Roger Mueller; sister-in-law, Phyllis Schott; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Nicholas & Adeline Mueller; her siblings: Claude “Sonny” Mueller and Marvin Mueller, siblings-in-law: Sandy Mueller, Joan Mueller, Bernadine (Eugene) Holschbach, Jeanette (Lawrence “Squeak”) Schaller, and Bob Woelfel; and a nephew: Cory Mueller.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will be in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge from 9:00 AM to the time of service. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family on their website page provided through wietingfuneralhome.com.
A special thank you to the staff at Frontida Liberty House for the wonderful care they provided to our mom in her last few months. Also, we want to thank Preceptor Hospice for the compassionate care given to our mom, with a special thank you going out to Renee, her primary hospice nurse…we could not have asked for a more caring & compassionate nurse for mom’s end of life journey. We are forever grateful to everyone that provided all the loving care that was given to our mom.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Aggies family. Aggie was a kind, caring and a beautiful lady. She will be dearly miss by all her family and friends. Growing up and living near by our families would get together for Thanksgiving and special occasions. They were always fun times. Whether going to grandma and grandpa Bangart and getting into a baseball game in the farm field or gathering at the Mueller’s, we made many memories.

Aggie will be missed dearly, she had a heart of gold and a contagious smile. Still have so many memories when we were growing up of getting together and playing softball and games outside while the adults were inside playing shephead. Our deepest sympathy to your family. May she rest peacefully in heaven with Harold.
