Aldon M Korth
Stockbridge WI
Aldon Mayo Korth of Stockbridge, WI, died peacefully on August 11, 2025, at Woodside Lutheran Nursing Home.
He was born in Rochester, MN, on June 30, 1926, to Alex and Mabel (Maas) Korth, and was brought up on a cheese factory in Harrison, Calumet County. He was baptized at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Appleton, and confirmed there in 1940. After graduating from Menasha High School in 1944, he enlisted as a pharmacy mate in the US Navy Medical Corps and trained as a Clinical Laboratory Technician at Corona and Oceanside in San Diego. Upon discharge he attended the UW Menasha and worked as an orderly at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah. This is where he met a beautiful young nurse and the love of his life, Helen Munsche. They married in 1951 and were each other’s best friend for 66 years until her passing in 2017. He graduated from Kahler Methodist School of Nursing, Rochester, MN, in 1953, and worked at Green Bay Correctional Institution as a Registered Nurse. The family lived in Allouez and were members of Faith Lutheran Church. In 1978, they moved to their retirement home on Lake Winnebago in Stockbridge. There, they joined St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, near Chilton, and were active in many church activities, grew in their faith, and enjoyed the fellowship, friendship and love of their St. Luke’s family. During retirement they enjoyed their time on the lake, toured the U.S. and Canada in their RV and spent winters in Rockport-Fulton Texas.
His greatest joy was being with his family and sharing his faith. He enjoyed camping, traveling, RVing, fishing, hunting, and gardening. Aldon could fix or make almost anything. No project was too big for him to attempt, including doing the carpentry, masonry, cabinets and plumbing in their retirement home. He took pride in refinishing furniture and making things, especially repurposing old wood or metal.
Aldon is survived by his children: Randall (Judith) Korth, Roxanne (Randall) Dyle both of Green Bay, Bryan (Susan) Korth, Saginaw, MI; grandchildren: Karlene (Christian Vargas) Dyle, Madison, WI, Korissa (Vincent) Zanrosso, Imperial Beach, CA; great-grandchild: Mateo Vargas; cousin: Marion Kamba; nieces, nephews, other family and friends, including dear friends Robie, Jill and his heavenly angel, Kim, who helped him stay in his home for as long as he did. He loved you all dearly. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Woodside Lutheran Home and the Bellin Health LTC team who gave him such kind care this past year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Althea Abitz, many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and other wonderful friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (W3102 Killsnake Rd.) near Chilton. Friends may call from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at the church prior to service. Internment will take place in the parish cemetery following the funeral ceremony.
Condolences
I am so sorry that your dad has passed. There is never a good time to say good bye, but we still must do so. I hope he did not suffer and you will soon be able to look back and cherish all the time you got to spend with him.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of you Dad. Even though I never met him personally, I knew he was a great man from the thoughts you shared with me about him in the past. May the Lord fill you and your family with his peace during this difficult time.

With great sadness, we send our deepest sympathies to Roxie and Judi and Aldon's entire family. God worked his wonderous ways by bringing Aldon and Helen into our daughter, Kim's, life through a summer job many years ago at their home on Lake Winnebago. Aldon was an inspiration to Kim by his many talents and personality and they quickly bonded. Your dad was truely a special man. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday."

I’m am sorry to hear about Aldon’s passing. I remember when I met them our son was going there to help with yard work. And every time I came back to pick him up they would be sitting in their screen porch drinking lemonade. I always told our son that these are very special people! Because not everyone has an interest in what young kids were thinking back then. We will always remember there kindness to him. Our sincere condolences to the family.
