Alice J. Kalinka, age 88, of Chilton, died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 7, 2022, in her home in the town of Stockbridge, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 29, 1933, in Rose Township, MN, daughter of the late Herman and Elsie (Syring) Stuber. On September 17, 1960, she married Hans “Doc” Kalinka, DVM, in St. Paul, MN, and together they had four children.

Alice loved all aspects of God’s created nature (especially loons and opossums) and being outside, gardening, and lighting the burn pile. She was particularly fond of the Lake Superior shoreline, the BWCA, and drifting in a canoe on various Wisconsin rivers bass fishing. She said her dream home would be in a quiet spot in a hickory woods. When she was indoors she was an avid reader, a trait she passed down to her children. She loved sewing, knitting, quilting, doing jigsaw puzzles, and working through puzzle books.
