Allen E Heinen
Leesville, SC

Allen Eugene Heinen, age 76 of Leesville, South Carolina, formerly of Chilton, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina.  He was born June 17, 1942 in Sheboygan, son of the late Reuben & Romilda (Westphalen) Heinen.

He was a graduate of Kiel High School, class of 1960.  Allen married Barb Hephner in 1966 in Kiel, Wisconsin and later married Sandra Schmitz in 1984 in Chilton, Wisconsin.

Allen was never one to let the grass grow under his feet as he was an individual to never sit still. He began his working career at Stoelting in Kiel before working for Tecumseh Products in New Holstein.  He also worked at Amerequip and applied his love of traveling to drive semi all across the Fruited Plain.  Beyond all of this, he also worked at the mink ranch in New Holstein, the Chilton Canning Company and many other odds and ends places throughout the area.  Once he was ready to hang up his working career, Allen escaped the harsh Wisconsin winters and moved to South Carolina where he continued to enjoy all that life had to offer.

Allen was also known for his many hobbies and there wasn’t anything that he wasn’t willing to try or that he didn’t already do.  He was a big fan of anything with wheels; he had a passion for motorcycles, cars, and campers which took him on numerous family adventures nearly every weekend of the summer.  The love of the outdoors also was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing and time spent gardening.  In high school, Allen played the trombone which sparked his love of music.  He was, quite literally, a music aficionado who appreciated music spanning across nearly every genre.  Above all, he loved his family and greatly appreciated their presence, especially because he was able to showcase his light hearted personality while continually playing pranks and making magic happen.

Survivors include his children: Lisa (David) Woelfel, Nathan Heinen and his fiancée, Jesse Spriks; his step-children: David Stelzer & Eric Broehm; his grandchildren: Travis (Alliee) Konz, Gabby Heinen, Jazmine Heinen; great grandchildren: Alexis Zinkel, Arya Heinen; his brothers: Glen (Elaine) Heinen, Calvin Heinen and his fiancée, Sharon Laux; and a sister-in-law: Barb Heinen.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Wayne Heinen; and a nephew: Eric Heinen.

Funeral service will be at 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
