Arlene D. Liebzeit, age 92, of Kaukauna, formerly of Hilbert, died on Sunday, April 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at The Landings of Kaukauna. She was born March 4, 1934 in Potter, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Albin “Butch” & Lillian (Knepfel) Endries.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert.
Arlene owned and operated the meat market in Hilbert for many years where she was able to showcase her various skills as a ‘Jack of All Trades’. It was here that she literally did a lot of the heavy lifting while driving truck for all of the deliveries and would frequently bring her children along on the route. Occasionally, she could be found chasing animals throughout Hilbert when they would sneak out of the yard at the meat market.
In her younger years, Arlene looked forward to going out dancing and did a mean Jitter Bug. She also enjoyed road trips up north to the cottage that her parents owned. Later in her life, her love of travel remained and loved having her daughter, Mary, drive her throughout the countryside.
Her grandchildren lit up her entire world and she loved to see them, care for them, and attend all of their functions that she could. She had a spunky personality with just enough wit and sass to bring a smile to everyone’s face. She truly epitomized love and never had a cross word about anybody but always spoke well of others and continually built them up with her encouragement.
Survivors include her children: Mary Liebzeit, Richard (Christine) Liebzeit, Shirley (Randall) Hunt, Roger (LuAnne) Liebzeit, Marilyn (Kip) Hasse, Rodney (Maureen) Liebzeit; 24 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a son-in-law: Tom Fochs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children: Susan Fochs & Raymond Liebzeit; and a grandchild: Brenda Fochs.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Hilbert. A time of visitation will be held at the Wieting Family Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 2:45 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a livestream or archived recording of the service, view a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.
Arlene’s family would like to extend their thanks and their gratitude to the entire staff at The Landings in Kaukauna for all of the loving care that was provided to Arlene during her time there.

Although we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” Arlene was mine. It still feels weird walking into work and not seeing her waving her finger at me to call me over and “scold” me for not seeing her if I was off for a few days.. Arlene was loved by us all and our “grandma” at work. I will miss her dearly ????
