Austin R Schmitz
Malone, WI

Austin R. Schmitz, age 24 of Malone, died on December 26, 2020, following an automobile accident in the Brothertown area.  He was born on April 26, 1996 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, son of Robert Schmitz and Amy (Westenberger) Schmitz.
Austin was a man on the go who rarely sat still and was always doing something to keep busy. He graduated from New Holstein High School in 2014 and worked several jobs throughout high school. He continued trying out several careers after high school until he landed in his dream of becoming an auctioneer.  Austin had a passion to try many careers such as farming, road construction, working in sales; all of this led him to finding fulfillment in auctions.
Austin was an entrepreneur looking for the next business adventure.  He had a passion for buying and selling items and followed his dreams all the way to Montana where he recently finished his required bid calling hours at Auctioneer School in February of 2020.  He was proud of his new adventure, starting his own business named Cross Country Consignment, and looked forward to being his own boss and setting big goals for himself.
Austin enjoyed many things, but at the top of his list was putting others first, spending time joking around, or keeping his friends company.  Although he was a hunter and fisherman, he mostly loved these hobbies because of the camaraderie, especially with his Uncle Scott and Trevor. He loved life in the outdoors, and most of all, he found it offered him comfort, fulfillment, and rest from the world.
Austin was loved by all and had the biggest heart. At twenty-four, he had almost too much love to get through the door. He was the most generous man, always giving his heart away to be helpful. He was intentional to give with thoughtfulness and generosity. He was a dreamer who had big plans and encouraged people to go after their goals.  His personality, laugh, and soul will be greatly missed by all his “best buds”.
He is survived by his mother, Amy Schmitz; father, Bob (Michelle) Schmitz, sister, Kendra (Ryan) Johnson; nephew, Brooks; step-sister, Alyssa Blumenstein; step-brother, Dylan Blumenstein; paternal grandparents, Paul (Judy Heus) Schmitz; maternal grandmother, Carole Wolf; maternal grandfather, Robert Westenberger; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Judy (Gerner) Schmitz and Sam Wolf, along with many friends and family.
The family of Austin hopes you will join them on December 31st to celebrate Austin by going out with a bang!
"Don't you worry about me. I'll be fine."- Austin

I will always remember Austin Robert for his contagious smile, joking personality and that every time we saw each other, I was greeted formally with a "Kaitlyn Jean" and a giant hug!! He would light up a room, make your cheeks hurt from laughing and was always up for an adventure. Love you Aust! I miss you so much.
