Betty J. Sabel, age 69, of Chilton, died on April 6, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born March 4, 1951, daughter of Ronald and Dolores Reinl. On September 5, 1970, she married William Sabel and they had three sons.

Family meant everything to Betty. She enjoyed spending time with Bill on their land, and hanging out at Dorn’s with her friends. She loved going to her sister Joanne’s Halloween parties, collecting many kinds of clowns and Betty Boop’s, and getting together with family. She spent a lot of her free time crocheting blankets and gifts for family and friends. She liked doing crossword puzzles, gardening, listening to the Brewers on the radio, and watching Green Bay play on Sundays because she was a huge Packers fan.

Betty is survived by her children: Scott (Brenda) Sabel, Steve (Lisa) Sabel, and Michael Sabel; her parents: Ronald and Dolores Reinl; grandchildren: Alexa Sabel, Madison Sabel, BriAnn Sabel, and Brevin Sabel; siblings: Pat (Dave) Wettstein, Judy (Rich) Lodes, Kathy (Stan) Schmitz, Joanne (Greg) Murphy, Mary (Richard) Driefuerst, Ron (Kim) Reinl, Jim (Sue) Reinl, and Joe (Kathi) Reinl; a brother-in-law: Ron (Joan) Sabel; and her birds: Bernie and Bucky.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sabel; Bills parents: Clem and Sally Sabel; a sister-in-law: Carol Sabel; and a niece: Katie Wettstein.

Growing up in the small unincorporated town, we have many, many grateful memories of Betty... From “Tree Hopping” house-to-house with all the neighbors during the Christmas holiday; To letting us have fun (causing mischief) with all the Charlesburg kids; To growing up into a pack of teenagers ~ Betty was a warm, loving lady with a fun sense of humor and always welcoming to us all. I’m grateful for my small town roots that connect me to wonderful people like Betty & Sabel Family. My deepest sympathies & condolences to Mike, Steve Scott and your families. I pray during these unprecedented times of separation in lieu of social distancing that you find comfort in the reflection of the many blessing & treasures she offers, and has offered to us all. The legacy of your parents lives on through each of you.

Sending you our love,

Nicole, Ryan & Jeff Gebhart

“Let all that we are praise the Lord; may we never forget the good things he does for us.
He forgives and heals. He redeems us from death
and crowns us with love and tender mercies.
He fills our life with good things. Our youth is renewed like the eagle’s!“
—Psalm 103:2-5
