Brian D. “Cooter” Diedrich, age 53 of Chilton, died on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.  He was born November 20, 1968 in Chilton, son of Ruth Ann (Gross) Diedrich and the late George Russell Diedrich.  Brian married Sara Schierl on September 20, 1997 in Chilton.

Cooter was a graduate of Chilton High School and furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.

For the last 25 years starting at Hilbert Tile, Cooter has been a notable part of the design and construction community in the Northeast Region of Wisconsin.  He owned and operated his own business and was well known as a trusted tile installer who focused on residential whole house needs.  He has partnered with many contractors, designers and homeowners to create unique, beautiful and functional spaces.  His eclectic portfolio includes hundreds of homes and businesses.  He is well known for his dedication to work with his wife and his time of relaxation with his friends, family and their hobbies.

Cooter is a man to be remembered and treasured.  There are moments no one wants to put into words, but this is where we are.  Cooter was a man that did things his own way.  Love it or leave it, and most of us found ourselves loving it, Cooter mastered his own plans and paved his own path.  He was born to be wicked, wild and free.  He took that same path as he left this world … on a snowy winter’s night, he was surrounded by love and laughter that has carried him through this journey of life … free and full of life.

Survivors include his wife: Sara; his mother: Ruth Ann; his son: Dustin; his siblings: Susan Dramm & her special friend, Brian Schmidlkofer; Chris Diedrich and his special friend, Jennifer Anderson; siblings-in-law: Shari Schierl and her special friend, Kevin Piper, Scott (Mary) Schierl; and nieces and nephews: Amanda Dramm, David Dramm, Courtney Schierl, Paige (Troy) Gillis & Jennifer’s son, Coleten Anderson.
Brian was preceded in death by his father:  Russ Diedrich; his sister: Jennifer;  2 nephews: Brandon & Tyler Schierl; his in-laws: Bill & Margaret Schierl; and his grandparents: Alden & Gertrude Gross, Joseph Diedrich and Joe & Betty Brooks.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 3:30 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022.  To watch the livestream of the service, see a recording of the service in the future, or view flowers given to the family, please click HERE

Brian’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Ascension for the care given to Brian and his family, and also to the friends and family for all of the support and love shown during this time.
I am so grateful that we were able to watch & listen to the complete live feed of the funeral service. What a beautiful and touching funeral service. I am also forever grateful to have been able to attend the visitation as it allowed me to pay my respects & to talk to Cooter and tell him that he will be missed and I will see him again some day. God Bless the Family. GOD SPEED COOTER!!

1st cousin to Ruthie. So sorry about your loss. Didn’t know him well, but if he was like his Mom & Dad (wonderful people) he was a great guy!

Rita Klotz (2nd cousin) - Jan. 15, 2022

My memories go way back to my teaching days at St, Mary's School in Chilton. I had both Brian & Sara as students. It was a pleasure to see their success in the business world in Chilton. We were able to take advantage of Sara's skills in our own home. May God give you the peace & comfort only He can provide at this difficult time. Thanks for the memories. Mrs. Fitz

I really am going to dearly miss you so much. I remember the first time I met you at Pine Acres Resort. I remember saying to Jim who the heck is that I can't understand a word he is saying. Jim replied that's Cooter. My condolence to the family.
