Bruce J Hofschild
New Holstein, WI

Bruce Jamon Hofschild, age 74, of New Holstein passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.  He was born on November 25, 1944 to the late Leland O. and Blanche (Machut) Hofschild.

On May 21, 1966, Bruce married the love of his life, Nancy “Tootie” (Andre) Hofschild.  Together they raised three beautiful children: Sheila, Pam, and Scott.

Bruce attended both grade school and high school in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in June of 1963.  After graduation he was employed at Cleveland Container in Plymouth for three years, and then The Tecumseh Engine Products  from 1966-1980, until his forced retirement due to health problems.   Bruce struggled with back issues and myelofibrosis until the time of his death.    He was also a member of St. Peter’s UCC in Kiel.

Bruce was an avid Packer and Badger fan, but most of all loved attending his grandkids sporting events.  No matter how much he was hurting, he wanted to watch those grandkids play.

Bruce had a love for riding his bike both at home and at his favorite campground, Vista Royalle, where he and his wife were seasonal for many years.

Bruce will be greatly missed for his gift to gab and comments about just about everything, but will be especially missed by his wife, “Tootie”; two daughters, Sheila Mari (Dennis) Diefenthaler, Pamela Anne (Kevin) Woelfel; one son, Scott Lee (Jennifer Blatz) Hofschild; four grandchildren:  Derek Diefenthaler, Erin Diefenthaler, Cole Woelfel, and Callie Woelfel; brother, Roger (Karen) Hofschild; sister-in-law, Susan Hofschild and Karen (Harvey) Koentopp; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and two brothers, Stanley and Howard Hofschild, and in-laws, Norman and Roma (Sperl) Andre.

Funeral Services will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton with Mike Mathes officiating.  Friends may call to Wieting Family Funeral Home, (411 W Main St, Chilton) from 11:00 AM to 2:15 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2018.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Bruce J. Hofschild or can be made to the American Breast Cancer, Leukemia fund, or St. Peter’s UCC in Kiel.

We will continue to remember the great times. I know he heard every word I said, when I said my Goodbye Love to all. Mom will have many watching over her this summer.

Jackie &Les Zimmerman (Vista Royalle ) - Dec. 21, 2018

We are so blessed to have had Bruce and Tootie as our "first" friends and neighbors when we became seasonals at Vista Royalle . We visited often with each other and had many laughs with both Bruce & Tootie. We sure were unhappy when they moved to the back & we let them know it too. Bruce will foever be remembered for riding his bike, visiting with everyone and most of all his huge smile no matter how much pain he was in !
But remembered most of all for his love for his family!!
WE will miss you Bruce!! Until we meet again - we love you!!! DAN & SANDY
