Carol A. Beyer, age 92, of Chilton, died on August 10, 2024, at Homestead Health Services in New Holstein. She was born July 22, 1932, daughter of the late Reuben and Ina Anhalt. In 1950, she married Lyle Beyer and together they raised eight children while running the family farm outside of Chilton.

Carol kept herself busy her entire life, being a farmer’s wife, raising a family, having food ready for a family of ten and anyone that helped on the farm, being the head calf feeder, and allowing her artistic abilities to come out through painting, colored-pencil coloring, and knitting. She was a talented seamstress, making many of her children’s clothes, including bridesmaids’ dresses and even a wedding dress. She held various jobs in the area and found time to volunteer at several places, as well as joining Lyle on the snowmobile trails or square dancing. She had a love of different music and often sang along, and she was happy to be a member of the St. Mary choir. 

Carol is survived by her children: Terrence (JoAnn) Beyer, Jane (Gordon) Loose, Pamela Beyer, Jody (Larry) Ditter, Peggy (Rick) Kees, Stephanie (Jeff) Lemke, Aaron (Lisa) Beyer, and Jeffrey (Breanne) Beyer; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and  siblings-in-law: Adella Anhalt, Karen Anhalt, Marlene Neuber, Dean Beyer, and Betty Beyer.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her parents, Reuben and Ina; brothers: Steven Anhalt and Paul Anhalt; great-grandchildren: Kamila Kees and Ali Ditter; and brothers-in-law: Wilmer Beyer and Alan Neuber.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until 2:15 pm at the funeral home on the day of service. There will be an opportunity for friends and family to share stories and memories of Carol during a portion of the service.
