Carol A Kiersten

Chilton WI

Carol A. Kiersten, age 83, of Chilton, died at her home on November 7, 2025, surrounded by those she loved. She was born September 2, 1942, daughter of the late Clarence and Alvina Hintz. She married James Kiersten on June 27, 1964 in Fond du Lac.

Carol had a big heart full of love for family, friends, babies, strangers, and pets. She worked in housekeeping at Chilton Village Nursing Home in Chilton and truly enjoyed her work because of the residents living there. She lived at Staton Place for five years following the death of her husband James, and she loved to give her friends  massages. She hugged everyone and always said, “I love you,”- even to strangers. Her family meant the world to her and she cherished every moment spent with them. She liked camping with James and the kids, and couldn’t help but worry about all of them all of the time. Despite her care for others and gratitude for all the gifts the world had given her, she certainly had a sassy side that could come out on occasions.

Carol is survived by her children: Steve Kiersten, Sue (Keith) Vanne, Teresa (Joseph) Muellenbach, Michael (Jacqi) Kiersten, and Jimmy (Michele) Kiersten; grandchildren: Heather Vanne, Dillon (Gabbie) Vanne, Amber Muellenbach and her special friend Andrew Muehlenkamp, Cody (Mary) Muellenbach, Marisa Nickel, Maranda LaFrombois, Megan Nickel, Veronica Grube; great-grandchildren: Carson Stuck, Alex Jewson, Nolan Jewson, Bentley Carlson, Iris Woods, Lilliana Woods, Hazlee Carlson, Alita Foster, Amelia Gross; siblings: Elmer (Ardine) Hintz; and in-laws: Jean Post, Judy Kiersten, Jackie Leach, Lorraine Kiersten.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, James Kiersten, Sr.; her parents: Clarence and Alvina; siblings: Harold Hintz and James (Sandy) Hintz; and in-laws: Joseph Kiersten, Jr., Charles Post, Eugene Leach.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) with Fr. Jon Thorsen officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 am until 11:45 am at the church prior to service. Carol will be laid to rest at 2:30 pm at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton on the same day. At the time of service and following, there will be a link available for those wishing to watch a livestream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or view the flowers and gifts given to the family, on their website page provided through wietingfuneralhome.com

Carol and I worked together at Meals On Wheels in Chilton. She was always a delight to work with, sharing stories and jokes, never had a complaint and was a diligent worker. All the guests at the site enjoyed having lunch together with her when it was her day to work. Carol was also a relative of my husband, Ken.
