Carol J Luniak

Hilbert WI

Carol J. Luniak, age 80, of the Town of Woodville, died on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at her home in Hilbert.  She was born June 10, 1944, daughter of the late Herbert & Cleophine (Weber) Stecker.

She married Alan Kiefer on May 11, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood.  A bit later in life, Carol married Paul Luniak on May 11, 1974 at Peace Church in Potter and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2005.

Known as a hard worker, Carol diligently devoted to her time and efforts at the Foley Company in Chilton, and Jack’s Pizza, which was later known as Kraft.  First and foremost, Carol treasured time spent on the farm where she lovingly tended to the dairy herd.  She was filled with joy knowing that her little family farm wasn’t just a ‘job’, it was something that was part of her life that helped feed and nurture other families.  When she and Paul weren’t working, they enjoyed going out to eat nights for a steak dinner or a  delicious fish fry.

Carol was forever devoted to caring for and feeding others.  She was known far and wide for her homemade bread, which could feed large gatherings.  Carol also had a knack for other delicious baked goods like peanut squares, cookies, and any shape or size of cut-out cookie imaginable.

With a spicy attitude and outspoken personality, no one was ever in doubt about what was on Carol’s mind.  She kept herself up to speed with technology who took great pride in being known as a “Mac Girl”, well before it was in style.

Although she was a quiet warrior, above all else, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ and lived every day in grateful appreciation of the many gifts she was afforded here on Earth.

Survivors include her children: Michael A. Kiefer, Stacy (Jeff) Susor; her siblings: Colleen (Tom) Farrell, Corrine “Corky” (Richard) Schuessler; and her sisters-in-law: Romaine (Gordy) Bruggink, Stella Stecker & Anne Stecker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her siblings: Dick, Bob & Tom Stecker, and Mary (Reuben) Rabe.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church (181 Main St.) in Potter with Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod officiating.  Burial will be in the Brillion Community Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday, November 16, 2024.  At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.

Since Carol was an excellent baker and looked forward to a good meal, donations toward a local food pantry in her name and in her honor are greatly appreciated.
