Carol M Schleh

New Holstein WI

Carol M. Schleh, age 71, of New Holstein, died on October 31, 2023, at her home in New Holstein. She was born January 29, 1952, daughter of the late John and Lucille Bonlander. On March 31, 1973, she married James “Jim” Schleh, and together they had three children.

Carol put in over 30 years at Tecumseh as a machinist, but her happiness in the world came from others. She was a people-person that gave world-famous hugs to anyone that crossed her path. She spent time working at her daughter’s establishments, Ethel’s, and it broke her heart when she had to stop. She was a member of the Catholic Knights and the American Legion Auxiliary. She liked getting out of the house to go on Costco runs or take trips up north.

Carol is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim; her children: Dawn Van De Kreeke (fiancé, Joshua Buchholz) and Paul Schleh; six grandchildren: Dylan (Kerri) Van De Kreeke, Ashley Van De Kreeke, Coral Schleh, Caden Steffen, Teagan Schleh, and Anna Muehlbauer; Cheri’s life partner: Al Muehlbauer; Al’s children: Amanda, Kylie, Dylan, and his grandchildren; siblings: Dolores Karls, Vern (Karen) Bonlander, and Marge (Gary) Lilyquist; in-laws: Bill (Mary) Schleh, Dorothy (Dennis) Ninmer, and Robert (Ann) Schleh; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille; her daughter: Cheri Steffen; a sister: Mary Jane (Jerome) Hoffmann; Jim’s parents: Roman and Margaret Schleh; and brothers-in-law: Jerome Schleh, and Bernard Karls.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from9:00 am until 12:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service.

At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family on their website page provided through wietingfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of Carol Schleh.
