Christina L Everson
Chilton WI
Christina L. Everson, age 60, of Chilton, died on September 10, 2022, in her home. She was born March 4, 1962, in Columbus, OH, daughter of the late James and Gertrude Walters. On December 26, 2009, she married Doug Everson at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in New Holstein.
Christina met Doug when he was the accompanist for her niece for Solo and Ensemble competition. She asked her niece about him and sent him a letter the following week asking for a date. She saw the best in people and loved helping others, even donating a kidney to her late sister, Elizabeth. She was a funny woman with an infectious laugh who wasn’t afraid of laughing at her own humor. She had a vivid memory and would often call her sister, Theresa, when one came to mind from their childhood.
Christina loved taking in the joys around her and even participating. She had a love of music and was very happy to be part of the choir and bell ensemble through her church. She performed in plays and often quoted her favorite lines from movies. She liked watching Turner Classic Movies and murder mysteries. She had a special spirituality that included dragonflies, cardinals, and butterflies which extended from her love of animals and she enjoyed nature, especially walking trails and along the beach. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she kept her tree up all year. She always sang along to the Christmas music and really liked “Christmas Canon” by Mannheim Steamroller. On Fridays she was always up for a fish fry from the Eagles Club even though nobody cooked as good as she did.
Christina is survived by her husband, Doug; her children: Brooke (Mark) Vander Pol, Heather (Jeff) Baugniet, and Dakota Funk; Doug’s children: Liz Everson (Jonathan Roy) and Jenn (Hunter) Brown; grandchildren: Nolan, Emma, Mia, Joshua, and Andrew: Doug’s grandchildren: Natasha and Madison; siblings: Sherry Salis, Jenny (Jeff) Pogrant, Theresa (Ed) Hansen, and William (Becky) Bush; Doug’s parents: Lloyd and Genevieve Everson; Doug’s siblings: Karen (Red) Peters, Joan Everson, Judy (Randy) Moeller, and Dennis Everson (Greg Smith); special furry friends: Jaspyr, Sergio, Dudley, and Brystol; and many nieces and nephews.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gertrude; a sister: Elizabeth Hau; a nephew: Brandon Van Asten; and special furry friends: Cinders and Max.
An open house in memory of Christina will take place from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home.
