Christopher J. Gebhart, age 55, of Hilbert, died on March 9, 2026, in Appleton. He was born April 19, 1970, son of the late Orlando and Elaine Gebhart. He graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1989.
After high school, Christopher joined the U.S. Marines. During his four years of honorable service, his primary specialty was as an anti-tank assualtman. During that time he earned badges as a rifle sharpshooter and a pistol marksman. Twice he earned USMC Meritorious Mast Letters of Appreciation, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. Christopher also received a National Defense Service medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
After his time in the Marines, he attended FVTC earning a 4.0 grade average. Christopher came back to the area where he worked as a machinist for several local companies. He gave generously and volunteered at the East Shore Humane Society. His friends and family remember him as an avid outdoorsman.
Christopher is survived by his siblings: Rosalie (Thomas) Mosley, Diane Gebhart, Vern (Karla) Gebhart, Gary Gebhart, Marilyn Gebhart, Barb (George) Franz, Dennis (Arlene) Gebhart, Sandra Gebhart, Orlando Gebhart, Jr., Allen Gebhart, James Gebhart, Kelly Gebhart, Darrin (Liliya) Gebhart, and Thomas Gebhart; brothers-in-law: Mike Koehler and Tom Rausch; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Orlando and Elaine; sisters: Patricia Koehler and Deborah Rausch; and a niece: Martha Koehler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Mary of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church (120 Davis St.) in Stockbridge. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, and from 9:30 am until 10:15 am at the church on the day of service. Christopher will be laid to rest at the parish cemetery following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the East Shore Humane Society.

I know Tom and Kelly. I met Chris at Kaytee. I enjoyed working with Chris. He was a nice guy. May Chris rest in peace. My deepest sympathy to family and friends.
