Clarence W Krueger

Hilbert WI

Clarence Krueger, Jr, 83, passed away May 20, 2024 at Abridge Care Cottages, Chilton resulting  from complications of dementia.

Clarence was born April 17, 1941 in the town of Potter,  son of the late Clarence and Marie (Siegwarth) Krueger, Sr.

He married Sandralee Meyers on April 29, 1961 at St Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge.

At the age of 16 Clarence left school to work on the family farm till the age of 17 when he went to work in the foundry at Brillion Iron Works.  When Clarence turned 25 he found a new passion and that was to become an over the road semi driver for Brillion Iron Works for 34 years till his retirment.  Through the years of retirement, not one to relax,  he decided to drive trucks for J&E Construction, Bob Miller Trucking, Pat Degeneffe and Stockbridge Mfg.

Clarence was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting coon, deer and turkey, but most of all chasing coyote and fox.  Hence, his CB handle was Coyote.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandy: His children: Theresa (Stumpy), Tom Krueger (Diane Kirvan, friend), Steve (Polly) Krueger, Amanda Krueger;  Grandchildren: Cassie (Jason) Johnson, Matt (Nikki) Krueger, Ben (Dana) Krueger, Clint (Leah) Krueger, Natalie (Tony) Rach, and Calley Becker; Great Grandchildren: Owen, Ridge, June, Charlotte, Grant, Laney, Brooks, Lily, Ellie and Josie; Sister: Jane Krueger; Sisters in law: Joan Krueger, Diane Krueger, Sandy Meyers and Diane Meyers; Many nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Marie; Brothers: Roger and Butch Krueger; a Sister: Joyce (Fred) Stollenwerk;  Children: Jimmy and Jeff Krueger; Granddaughter: Halley Becker; Brother in law: Fred Stollenwerk; Niece: Julie Yepsen; Parents in law: Claude and Lorena Meyers, Sr.; Brothers in law: Jerry, Jim, Claude Jr, and Don Meyers; Sisters in law: Sande Meyers and Bernice Meyers.

The family woulld like to thank the staff at Abridge Care Cottages as well as the nurses at Calumet County Hospice.  And a special thanks to Holly,  you were as good for him as he was as good for you.

In lieu of flowers, plants, or memorials, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

"Old Coyote's muzzle is turning white and his steps are slow.  He spends most of his time basking in the sun and remembering.  Chasing rabbits, raising pups with Mrs. Coyote, gathering with his friends on the mountain, and howling at the moon - it's been a long, full life, and he's grateful for it..."

I loved Clarence! He would always come into the bait shop (Val's Bait & Tackle) with a smile and a spark of mischief in his eye. I'd greet him with, "Oh, boy! Here's trouble!" My condolences to all his family. Remember his joy!

Always enjoyed a little talk with Jr. whether it was him following his dogs chasing fox or coyote. Also reminisced about the days he worked for my Dad on our farm in the late 1950’s. Our sympathy to Sandy and the family.

One of the greatest role models I had as a kid. Tough, strong but tender. Knew the right thing to set you straight, but still throw a funny quip in there to make sure you knew nothing is ever that serious. I'll never forget the first time I met Clarence, I'll think of him often, as I strive to be that good of a man in life. Rest peacefully.
