Claude H. Knaus, 87, of Chilton, passed away on December 28, 2018, with his loving family by his side, following a short battle with cancer.  Claude was born on November 12, 1931, to Ray and Catherine Knaus. He married the love of his life, Doris J. Broeckel, on June 29, 1957.

Claude served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1958 with an honorable discharge which included a tour in the Korean Conflict.  He later served in VFW Post # 3153.

He was a hard working man and took pride in his dairy farm for 35 years. He also was employed with Tecumseh Products for 34 years and continued to work with LDS part-time until his passing.

Claude enjoyed life and spending time with his loving family. He enjoyed his meals at 7 Angels and loved walking his dog, Pugsly.

Survivors include his beloved furry friend Pugsly; his children: Donald Knaus of Chilton, Wayne (Ann) Knaus of Chilton, David (Debra) Knaus of Chilton, Randy (Cathi) Knaus of Chilton; grandchildren: Nicole Knaus of Sheboygan Falls, Carissa (Joshua) Glaeser of Sheboygan, Brandon Knaus of Chilton, Heather Turba (significant other, Josh Carney), of Stockbridge, Ryan Turba of Elkhart Lake, Courtney and Nateli (MK) Knaus of Chilton; great-grandchildren: Madalyn Bryant and Payton Turba of Stockbridge; his sister: Louisa Meier of Chilton; sisters-in-law: Margie Knaus of Johnsburg and Shirley (Lester) Freund of Brothertown; aunt: Marcella Durfus of Neenah; many nieces, nephews, his 7 Angels and LDS family and friends.

Claude is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris (Broeckel) Knaus; parents: Ray and Catherine Knaus; in-laws: Viola and Henry Broeckel; siblings: Sr. Cecillia Knaus, Sr. Rosetta Knaus, Elroy Knaus, Clarence (Elaine) Knaus, Teresa (Art) Keifenheim, Elmer (Ruth) Broeckel, Leroy (Dorothy) Broeckel, and Orville Meier.

Funeral services are set for 11:30am on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 4:00pm to 7:30pm on Thursday, January 3, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, and again at the funeral home from 10:00am until 11:00am on Friday, January 4. A vigil service will be held following Thursday evening’s visitation. The burial is scheduled for 2:30pm on Friday, January 4, at the St. Charles Cemetery in Charlesburg.
We enjoyed Claudie’s company and friendship especially while working in the VFW food stand during summer band concerts in the park. He faithfully made all the popcorn and shared stories about Pugsly. He was a great guy and will be fondly remembered and truly missed!

Don and family,
Sympathy goes out to you
and yours, for the loss of
your wonderful father.
He always had a smile that
could light up a room. He
was loved by all who were
fortunate enough to know him.
He will be missed, indeed.
Until we meet again, Claude,
please rest in peace.

Don and Connie Waldvogel (friend) - Dec. 31, 2018

Don and family
We were so sorry to hear about Claude's passing. He was our neighbor for almost 20 years. He was always willing to help when our snow blower or lawn mower would not start. He enjoyed telling us stories about his Army days. He will be missed.
God Bless!
