David A Scheibe
Chilton, WI

David A. Scheibe, age 82, of Chilton, died on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Banner Desert Medical Center, in Mesa, Arizona.  He was born March 26, 1939, son of the late Archie and Frieda (Reinke) Scheibe.   He married, Donna (Ecker) Hedrich, on September 23, 1988, at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton.
Dave graduated from Freedom High School in 1957 and proudly served in the US Army.   Following high school he worked at Foremost, and then to Midwest Breeders, which brought him to the Chilton area.  He worked for 21st Century Genetics, breeding cattle, until his retirement in 2006.  Dave visited many farms in the Calumet and Outagamie County areas.  He could carry on a story with any farmer, loved to joke  around, and enjoyed being on the farms.

If Dave was not on a farm working, he loved to spend his time driving the double-seater restored Farmall tractor, working on his land outside of Chilton, planting trees of all types, gardening, and picking the fruits of his harvest to share with his family.  Even if he had to ship the fruit from his Arizona home to Wisconsin he made sure his family had a taste of his backyard.    A smile was always on Dave’s face when he spent time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as he watched them grow and doing fun things.

After Dave’s retirement, he and Donna spent many miles on the road traveling.  They traveled to all of the states in the United States except Utah.  Their travels included annual trips to Branson to see Danny O’Donnell.  They enjoyed delivering Travel trailers from Indiana.  They loved seeing the different lay of the lands and all the sites along the way.  For the past many years, Dave and Donna enjoyed their summer months in Wisconsin and winter months enjoying the Arizona weather.
Dave was always sporting his handlebar mustache throughout the years and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Survivors include:  his wife, Donna; children: Julie (Derwin) Fronczak, Rhonda (Larry) St. Marie, Loni Scheibe, Laurie Bellile, Michelle (Michael) Lee, Larry (Clara) Hedrich, Daniel (MarJean) Hedrich, Linda (Timothy) Tasch, Jeffrey (Linda) Hedrich, Deann (Gary) Halbach; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; sisters: Virgina (Duane) Doersch, Anita Randerson, Betty (John) McKnight; brother, Ken (Sharon) Scheibe; and sisters-in-law: Evie Scheibe Krueger, Charmaine Jenkins, Kathleen (David) Lemke, Ann (Doug) Curry.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Scheibe, son, Brad Scheibe; great-granddaughter, Megan Tasch and brothers-in-law, George Randerson and Bill Jenkins.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Drive) in Chilton with Rev. Thomas Schmitt officiating.  A time for visitation will be at church from 12:00 PM until the time of service.   Those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service may do so by clicking HERE.

I didn’t know Dave that well. But, I know Donna and her children. I am so glad that such a powerfully convicted woman to those that mattered in her life, met and married Dave Scheibe. I know that he was loved and continues to be missed….

Judith Turner (Friend of Donna’s family from my youth) - Mar. 26, 2022

David called me many years on Easter saying he was the Easter Bunny, now this year I’ll miss that call.
