Dawn M Lenz-Parker
Chilton, WI

Dawn M. Lenz-Parker, age 62, of Chilton, died on November 29, 2022, after a life full of struggles and a brave, two-year battle with cancer. She was born December 2, 1959, daughter of Dolores Lenz and the late Francis Lenz.

Dawn had a strong work ethic, never concerned with when shifts started or how long they took. Dawn was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt and assorted relative and acquaintance by circumstances and default. In other words, she didn't choose her family and we didn't choose her, however, being a friend was by choice and how close of a friend would change by time and circumstances. Time and circumstances played a big role in shaping Dawn's life. She had many ups and downs, happy times and sad times. Some were out of her control and some she had complete control over.  But through it all, she was Dawn, and if you knew her, you know what I mean.

Then she met a problem that doesn't play nice and doesn't care who or what you are:  cancer. From this adversary that she fought for more than 2 years, she came face to face with another great equalizer: death. These two opponents seemed to change Dawn the most. I am happy to say for the better. She became a much better sister and friend. I wish more of you could have seen the change.

Since I feel every life should have a lesson that can be learned from it, and Dawn's is no exception, here it is - Don't wait to become a better person. The sooner you become a better person, the longer you and the people around you can enjoy the change. If you knew Dawn, please remember the good times you had together. Take comfort in knowing Dawn is in a better place with no pain or problems and at peace. Finally, don't let Dawn's life lesson be a waste; don't wait for a major problem like cancer or death be required to change you. There is no time like the present.

Dawn is survived by her son, Brandon (Heidi) Lenz; a brother: Francis (Jodi) Lenz, Jr.; her mother: Dolores Lenz; and three nieces: Kathryn (Zack) Dorn, Carol Lenz, and Mary Lenz.

Dawn was preceded in death by her husband: Doug Parker; and her father: Francis Lenz.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, with Pastor Dr. Marc Axelrod officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until 3:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service. A committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at St. Augustine Cemetery in Chilton. To view flowers given to the family, please click HERE

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of Dawn Parker-Lenz.
I remember playing at Dawn's house downtown. We always had fun.
