Deborah F. (Berrens) Dotson, age 73, of Chilton, passed away on December 28, 2025 at Ascension Calumet Hospital.

Deb was born on November 29, 1952. She spent her life building strong connections with family, friends, and her community. She was a very loving and caring person whose humor, spunk, and quick wit kept her young at heart and brought joy to everyone around her.

Deb worked many jobs throughout her life, but for the past 19 years she proudly served as the manager of Weber’s Gas Station in Chilton. There, she developed some of her closest friendships. It was common to walk into the gas station and find people visiting with Deb. This was her social life, and she cherished every minute of it. At 73, she had no desire to retire; she didn’t want to give up the daily connections she loved so much.

She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. She loved going to games whenever she could, and whether she was cheering from the stands at American Family Field or watching from home, Deborah never missed a game. Talking about the Brewers was her favorite pastime, and sharing that excitement with others brought her endless joy.

Christmas was Deb’s favorite holiday. She especially treasured the tradition of making Christmas cookies and peanut butter balls with her daughters and grandchildren, moments filled with laughter, love, and memories that will be cherished forever.

Family meant everything to her. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and participate in their many activities. She was eagerly looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild, due in April 2026, and to seeing her granddaughter Kylie marry her fiancé, Benjamin Chewning.

Deborah is survived by her daughters, Joy (Wayne) Roberts and Amy (Jim) Schmitting; her grandchildren, Taylor Roberts, Triton Kamba, Kylie Schmitting (fiancé Benjamin Chewning), and Caden Schmitting (girlfriend Marissa Ray); and one great-grandson on the way. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Zorn and Patty Geiser, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward “Pat” and Leona Berrens, and her sisters Deloris, Gladys, Ruth, Shirley, and Mary.

Deborah will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. As she would say, “Go Brewers,” and may she now cheer them on from the best seat in the house.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2025, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until 2:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service. Guests are encouraged to wear their Brewer clothes! At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family, on their website page provided through wietingfuneralhome.com

For the past 10 years I have been delivering Pepsi to the gas station that Deb managed. It was always the highlight of my week to see Deb's smiling face, chat with her about our faith, or books, or any old thing that came to mind. Deb was a kind soul, a wonderful person though and through, and I know that she is up in heaven right now looking down on us all, praying for our comfort while we grieve. Deb, I will miss you dearly, thank you for all the memories and all the free coffee.

Dear Amy, When working at CACS, I would stop at the gas station where she worked, and got my cappuccino. She always had a smile, and a great conversation. She was so kind. I was always in a hurry, but Deb never cared. Many times she would buy my coffee - which was a kind act. You had a great mother!
