Diane M. Stiefvater, age 62, of Chilton, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born on February 23, 1964, to the late Louis Stiefvater and Karen (Jim) LeMahieu. Diane graduated from Chilton High School in 1982 and was the proud mother of Brittany.
Affectionately nicknamed “Dino” by her siblings, Diane was known for her unique sense of humor and love of making others smile. She was kind-hearted, strong, independent, and resilient. Diane enjoyed drawing, music, singing, and dancing. She also loved nature and animals, especially her beloved dog, Dixie, who was always by her side. Above all, Diane cherished spending time with her family and treasured the many memories they made together.
Diane lovingly called Brittany and her granddaughters her “three lovelies.” She is survived by her daughter: Brittany (Aaron) Ott; granddaughters: Kennadie and Audrina Ott; mother: Karen (Jim) LeMahieu; siblings: Terry (Tim) Keuler, Tim (Ann) Stiefvater, Deb Winkler, Troy (Lynn) Stiefvater, and Christy Stiefvater (fiancé, Mark Hassler); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her four-legged friend: Dixie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Stiefvater.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. There will be an opportunity for anyone to share stories and memories to conclude the open house, starting at 6:30 pm.

Sad to hear this. I had heard recently that she was not doing well. I didn’t know to what extent. Even though it’s been a long time since I seen her. I’ll always remember her funny humor and banter she gave to us cousins at the reunions and out about in Chilton area taverns. Heavens got a good one .
