Out of concern for the health and well being of Dorothy's family and friends, the public gatherings scheduled for July 25, 2020 at Neighborhood Pub and Grill in Brant have been cancelled.

Dorothy Hemauer, age 98, of Chilton, died on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Century Ridge in Chilton.  She was born December 29, 1921 in Hilbert, daughter of the late Harry & Emma (Dunker) Broehm.

Dorthy married Herman “Hermie” Hemauer on November 21, 1939 in Hilbert, and they owned and operated Hermie’s Lunch north of Stockbridge for over 20 years.  She later worked at Thiel Cheese as a foreman where she was happy to apply her people skills with all those she worked with.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge.  She also belonged to the Christian Women and the Eagle’s Auxiliary in Chilton.  Dorothy volunteered countless hours at the gift shop in Calumet Medical Center and devoted time cooking for the Chilton Senior Citizens group.  She was a very friendly and social person who belonged to many Sheepshead card clubs throughout the area.

Survivors include her children: Tom (Rita) Hemauer, Lou (Judy) Hemauer, Judy (Gerry) Burg, Pat (Gerry) Bloedorn, Jackie Hemauer; 9 grandchildren; a sister: Gen Kiefer; a brother-in-law: Chuck Westenberger; and a sister-in-law: Mary Ann Broehm.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Hermie; 2 infant sons: Gary & Richard Hemauer; and 3 siblings.
My sympathy to Dorothy's family. Worked with Dorothy 40+ years ago as Holiday Help at Thiel's Cheese - "We are Dorthy's Elves -- Filling Dorothy's Shelves..." She was an amazing person.
