You can shed tears that he is gone

Or you can smile because he has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday,

Or you can be happy for tomorrow, because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he’s gone or you

Can cherish his memory and let it life on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what he’d want: SMILE, OPEN YOUR EYES, LOVE

AND GO ON!

Condolences

Uncle Earl , you were a good man who did good work. May the Almighty, God, Our Creator bring you new and greater level of conscientiousness. Among my best memories as a young kid was visiting my Uncle Earl, Aunt Irene and cousins. Your smile and good nature will be missed.

My wife Judith and I grieve the loss of my neighbor for almost 30 years (Judith for 16 plus) -- someone who was always ready to lend us a very able hand in fixing a few things in the house, in letting us borrow the lawnmower, and in talking politics and other subjects. We hope to imitate Earl's fighting spirit in coping with health problems once we encounter them ourselves. In the meantime, we hope to have his wonderful spouse Irene as our neighbor for years to come.

Uncle Earl has left us heartwarming memories and life stories that will always be remembered. I cherish my own of Uncle Earl and Aunt Irene babysitting me on the farm; the hours of family history and stories he happily retold. To the go-cart ride with you and cousin Mike at Alicia's wedding... and just 2 days ago the laughter and jokes that you, Gramma Baker, Aunt Irene and myself all shared. You have left my heart full.
