Edmund W Judziewicz

New Holstein WI

Edmund W. Judziewicz, Jr., Agę 92, died on April 26, 2025. He was born July 30, 1932, in Milwaukee, son of the late Edmund and Emily (Guadynski) Judziewicz.

He married Lorraine in Milwaukee on August 9, 1952 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in December of the same year. Lorraine joined him and traveled with him as he served in the military.

Upon his return from service he started a mink ranch in Racine County and was also employed by the Allen Bradley Company as a supervisor. In 1968 he moved to St. Cloud and started a dairy farm. He retired and sold the farm in 1999. He spent his retirement as a custodian for Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School. He often said those were very rewarding years for him - he was known as the old man with a child’s heart by the staff and students.

Ed had many interests. He enjoyed golfing at Hickory Hills with his friends and he was a Blackbelt in Judo and Aikido. He was also an artist, author, and instructor of his talents.

Ed is survived by his sons: Edmund (Ardyce) Judziewicz, III, and Paul (Michele) Judziewicz; nephews: William Sweeny, Thomas Tomczak, and Mark Tomczak; as well as extended family and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife of over 65 years, Lorraine; his parents: Edmund, Sr. and Emily; a brother and two sisters: Gregory Judziewicz, Emily Szyszkiewicz and Sandra Judziewicz; a nephew: Michael Szyszkiewicz; and brother-in-law: Arthur Tomczak.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Caring Hands Assisted Living, Heartland Hospice, and the dear friends that helped take care of Ed.

Condolences

Ed was very dear to me! He always made me laugh and I enjoyed watching him create his drawings. I was so proud when I mastered making his bed to his standards. I have the art work he gifted to me over the years I worked at Willowpark framed or in a scrapbook I bought just for his drawings. He was the kindest man. I was honored to care for him and he was a blessing to me just to even know him. I loved hearing about his life. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Tab

Ed was the most humble Bus driver and guy any one could ask for.Rest in peace Ed. Tom Kraus

My prayers and sympathy to all of Ed's family. I doubt there was ever another couple as kind, gentle, and caring as Ed and Lorraine. I met Ed while we were both employees at SS. Peter & Paul Parish and I truly missed him when he retired. I treasure the St. Nick prints he gave me, as well as the black & white framed drawing of a cat (titled "Our Hero") and my copy of "Ella the Elegant Elephant, but mostly, I treasure the two framed water colors he gave me when I retired from the position of parish secretary at SSPP. Ed was a very special man...and he touched so many lives in so many special ways.

Ed was our bus driver for many years in Kiel. He was a kind man, and I think that a great many of the students on the bus were afraid of him. He had a gentle kindness about him. God rest in heaven, Ed.

So sorry Ed. I’m sure many wonderful memories.

Kris Thome Gilgenbach (Classmate of Ed ) 2025-04-29 11:31:46

I am so saddened by the death of Ed as he was one of the most memorable people, I've ever had the chance to work with. Ed was my Farm Department Manager at the Chilton Farm and Home store for a number of years until he retired. He was a man of integrity and was very much appreciated by our customers. We shared many experiences together over the years and I was fortunate enough to be given one of his drawings. Amazingly detailed I must say. My condolences to his family and I pray for GOD'S richest blessings upon them as they go through this time of sorrow and hardship. Thanks, Ed, for the person you are and for all your dedication to the job over the years.

It was such a pleasure to have met Ed. He was truly one of a kind. The artwork that he has shared with us and the endless stories of his life have been a true blessing to me. May he rest in the arms of the Lord. My sincere condolences to his family.

I enjoyed getting to know Ed at Willowpark Place. He told stories of his life, especially involving his art. Once he shared his photo album with me, showing the pictures of his work. He was so proud of that. He gave birthday art to my mom, which was also very special. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I am so sad that Ed (“Moonji” ) is gone. My wife Virginia and I loved him. He was my father’s favorite nephew and my favorite cousin. I remember often visiting him in the early 1960s at his mink ranch in Caledonia, Racine County, with his wife Lorraine, sons Eddie and Paulie, their dog Bruno, their VW beetle (early adoptors!), and judo trophies. Always such an gentle, upbeat, good-humored man but with a playful touch of rascality, too! Then he and family moved to their dairy farm near New Holstein where my brother Wyat worked the summer of 1970 and found in Moonji almost a second father. Then, visits from and to him later in life where I learned what a prolific, whimsical, warm-hearted artist he was, his paintings often with his self-caricature with glasses and his trademark handlebar mustache always smiling from the sky at some peaceful forest or farm scene - he even visited Point in 2004 with Ella the Elephant! I was sad at Lorraine’s passing in 2018 but found Moonj in good spirits when Wyat and I visited him at Kiwianis Park even during the 2021 pandemic. I miss him so much.
