Edward E Reif
Chilton, WI

Edward E. Reif, age 70, of Chilton, is peacefully at rest in the loving arms of the Lord. He died on October 19, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born on February 5, 1950, son of the late Carlos and Marie Reif.

Edward worked many years as a machinist for Tecumseh, but he had a passion for farming and raising animals - helping run the Reif family farm and working with other farmers in the area. He was happiest outdoors and instilled an appreciation for the wilderness and wildlife in his children. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, ice fishing, and sturgeon spearing. He loved playing the Packer pools at Cheers and watching WWE almost as much as he loved to go camping and spending time up North. Edward was fun-loving and kind-hearted; his children remember him saying, “Race ya!” and he would run with them from the farmhouse to the barn. He liked to joke around and he was loved by many.

Edward is survived by his children: Laura (John) Behnke, David (Angel) Reif, and Andrew Reif; grandchildren: Kimberly (Keith) Frederick, Angela Behnke (significant other: Cody Nix), Carly Reif, Emily Reif, Anika Schmitz, Matthew Reif, and Lilly Reif; great-grandchildren: Emma and Hunter Bangart; and siblings: Helen Reif, Carlos (Marlene) Reif, Robert “Bob” Reif, and Arthur “Art” (Shirley) Reif.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Marie; and his great-grandson: Aiden Frederick.

A funeral service is set for 5:00pm on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at the funeral home on the day of service.

The family extends a special thanks to Corey and Ann Schoen and their children. We deeply appreciate your relationship and friendship over the last 14 years with our father.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the compassionate and diligent care provided by the Calumet County Home Care nurses, Ascension Medical Clinic, EMT's, St. Elizabeth's ED and hospital staff and oncology. Everyone's genuine care will be forever remembered and cherished.
So sorry to see this! Ed was a camping friend when I was growing up. I can only remember him with the biggest smile and laughs! Peace to those he leaves behind.
