Eileen M Brantmeier
New Holstein WI
Eileen M. Brantmeier, age 89, of New Holstein, died on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Caring Hands Assisted Living Facility in New Holstein. She was born July 4, 1936 in Chilton, daughter of the late Valeria (Schnur) King and Arno & Louise Sohrweide. In November of 1958, she married Eugene Brantmeier at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton.
As a woman of deep faith, Eileen was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She was very involved and loved to share her faith by making Rosaries and spread her faith throughout the world by sending them to every corner of the globe.
Eileen cherished her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren who she was known for handing out $2.00 bills for the novelty of it and to see their faces light up with excitement. For over 25 years, Eileen also hosted a summer party where the whole family came together for delicious food, fun games and plenty of laughs. She will fondly be remembered as a caring and compassionate woman who made sure that everyone around her was taken care of, well before any of her own needs.
Survivors include her husband: Eugene; her children: Mary (Bill) Hogue, Laurie (Victor) Ijomah, Gary Brantmeier, Scott (Becky) Brantmeier; her grandchildren: Travis, Crystal, Angela, Curtis, Brandon, Cole, Erika, Justin, Zack, Reese; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and her sister: Joann (Bob) Franzen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Valeria King; her father and step-mother: Arno & Louise Sohrweide; and her sister: Patricia Flynn.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Jon Thorsen officiating. Burial will be in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. A time of visitation will be held at the Wieting Family Funeral Home from 9:30 am until 10:45 am on Friday, March 13, 2026. Dear Gene and family. Eileen and Gene were a cool couple and loved to have fun. Eileen was a remarkable cook and baker which I think she inherited from our Grandma Lorena Sohrweide. I can remember when Eileen and Gene lived above the Chilton theater and shared the house with Grandma Sohrweide on Washington Street. Eileen was a great friend to my mom, Adeline. They spoke often on the phone. Eileen we are saddened by your death. We know you are enjoying heaven and having fun the Sohrweide family. Say HI to Pat, Betty and Dick for us.

To the Brantmeier family, sending my deepest sympathies. I was the babysitter for the kids many moons ago and Eileen would leave a piece of chocolate cake for us as a snack. Best cake and best kids ever! We are sadden by your loss. Sending thoughts and prayers.

First met Eileen and Gene when we moved to Chilton from Milwaukee in 1998. We purchased the house across the street from their Grand St. house. She was a 1 woman Welcome Wagon full of info and kindness. Brought our family a beautiful dinner and we have been sharing meals back and forth for 25 plus years. Her favorite saying was, God first, then family, then money. Her devotion to the Blessed Mother and the saying of the rosary gave her peace especially during the past few years as her health problems became more difficult. Only kind thoughts and prayers for her now. Rest in peace dear friend. Love and condolences to Gene and Family. You all are in our prayers. God bless.

I had a lot of fond memories from Aunt eileen. She made the best chocolate cake.It had a dollop of whipped cream on it. I'm not sure what she called that one. She helped me when I was in the restaurant. She came with mom and helped put the tacos together for me.Because I stood up for a wedding , and we had tacos at the fair The next day. I loved her stories , and my sisters always say , i'm just like her , ha ha , and that's a compliment.
