Eleanor Kay Gerhartz, born Eleanor Kay Holzer, passed away on November 9, 2020 at Sunny Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin at the age of 83.  Eleanor was born in the Township of Stockbridge, August 23, 1937, daughter of the late George & Thelma Holzer.  

Survivors include her children: Janell (Gerhartz) Rasper; Sharon (Gerhartz) Loftus with her husband, Dan, Brian Gerhartz, Brenda (Gerhartz) Sosin, Cindy (Gerhartz) Haase with her husband, Mark; 6 grandchildren: Brandi, Brittney, Trista, Ryan, Erin & Liam; 6 great grandchildren: Gabriel, Rayna, Lucian, Gianna, Oswin & Ken; brother: Harvey Holzer; and in-laws: Ginney and Wayne Meyer, Joan Joas, Willard Hemaner, Jean Holzer, Loretta Gerhartz, and Duwayne Lavey.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Chuck; step-father: Donald Barrett; her sisters: Joan Hemauer;  Jayne Jaffke, & Mary Hemauer; a brother: Donald Holzer; brothers-in-law: Roland Gerhartz, Len Joas & Charles Hemauer; a sister-in-law: Ellen (Gerhartz) Lavey; and a son-in-law: Mike Sosin.

Eleanor grew up on the family farm in the Town of Stockbridge; she was a graduate from Stockbridge High School.  Eleanor met her groom of 56 years, Charles Gerhartz, and was married at St. Mary Catholic Church of Stockbridge in 1958.  

Chuck and Eleanor lived in Stockbridge, Appleton, New Holstein and Quinney before settling in the Village of East Troy where she was an East Troy Lioness.  Eleanor was employed at Trent Tube, retiring after 30 years of service working as the tube crane operator and the couple moved to Whitewater.  Moving back to Stockbridge after the death of her husband.

Eleanor enjoyed all forms of art including painting, sculpture and flower arranging.  For many years, she loved to sturgeon spear and bowl, where she was in the 200 Club for several years.  Eleanor enjoyed a good round of golf, a great game of cards with friends, Pickle Ball and Packer games with family.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00pm on Friday, November 20, 2020, at St. Mary of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church (120 Davis St.) in Stockbridge. Friends may call from 12:30pm until 2:00pm at the church on the day of service. Visitors are asked to please wear masks during visitation and the service. A committal service will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Stockbridge following the service. Due to COVID19, the family will not be having a public gathering after the ceremonies.
