Elizabeth A Arenz
Chilton WI
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Arenz, age 91, of Chilton, went to her eternal rest on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Lakehouse Assisted Living in New Holstein.
She was born on January 3, 1934 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Edwin & Exilda (Steiner) Wagner. She attended school in the Charlesburg area.
On May 11, 1954, she married her loving husband, Ervin Arenz at St. Martin Catholic Church in Charlestown; he preceded her in death on June 7, 2010.
Together, they owned and operated the Arenz Family Homestead farm in the Town of Stockbridge. When Betty was first married, she worked at the Salvatorian Center in New Holstein and devoted her life as a well organized, hardworking wife and mother who loved her family. She treasured her faith and lived a faithful life as a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly the Holy Trinity Parish in Jericho where she actively served with the Christian Women’s Society. She furthered her community involvement with her membership in the Chilton Eagle’s Auxiliary #1288 and took time traveling with her family and friends. There wasn’t a time where she would pass up a chance to play a round or two of Sheepshead or sit down and take in her beloved Green Bay Packers.
Deep down, Betty knew that she was blessed beyond measure, but the greatest blessing in her life was her family. She was extremely proud of her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. They were the crowning jewel of her life and cherished having each and every one of them in her life.
She is survived by her children: Audrey (Gary) Watry, Andrew (Gloria) Arenz, Alan (Jody) Arenz; her grandchildren: Philip (Toni) Watry, Joshua (Kellie) Arenz, Bradley (Julie) Arenz, Natalie Arenz and her fiancé Eric Roggeman, Alisha (Nick) Krebsbach, Andrea Arenz; her nine loving great-grandchildren; and her beloved sister: Rosie Kotlowski. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Ervin; her parents-in-law: Art & Clara Arenz; seven brothers-in-law: Thomas Shea, Gerald Kotlowski, Sylvester Arenz, Gilbert Arenz, Clemens Arenz, Everett Muellenbach, Clarence Heimann; and her sisters-in-law: Romilda Muellenbach, Marie Heimann, Florence Arenz, Merla Arenz and June Arenz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Carl Diedrichs officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Jericho. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until 11:45 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a livestream or archived recording of the service, view a memorial video, or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.
Betty’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Calumet County Homecare and Hospice, especially Colleen and Amanda, as well as the staff at Lakehouse Assisted Living for the love and compassion that was provided to Betty and her entire family. They would also like to extend sincere gratitude to all of the family and friends that took time to share moments with their mother when she was unable to come and visit with them.
Condolences
I'm sorry for my late message as I just found out. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Arenz family. The Hoerth family has so many great memories and photos of spending time with your family. We cancelled our trip to come up and see Betty during the Covid outbreak, and we're very sad that we didn't get get to visit with her. I pray that her and Ervin are hanging out with my parents again, just like the good ole days. My love to the family, and hope to see y'all again some time in the future.
