Elizabeth M. “Betty” Jost, age 89 of Hilbert, passed away on Sunday February 5, 2023, at Abridge Care Center in Chilton.  She was born December 6, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph & Catherine (Diedrich) Juckem.

Betty married the love of her life, George Jost on October 7th 1953 and together they had five children.

She devoted her life to her family, helping on the family farm and working for the Hernke’s and later at Nestle, and Fromagerie Bel Cheese until her retirement in 1995.

Betty was steadfast in her faith and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert.

Betty loved gardening, baking, sewing and quilting. She displayed her talent by participating at the Calumet County Fair yearly. She enjoyed spending time playing cards with her friends, visiting with grandchildren, and sitting outside with George enjoying a beautiful day. The couple spent many years traveling the world together as well as taking day trips to the Casino where Betty was always the "lucky" one.

Betty looked forward to every holiday where she was able to give her beautiful handmade creations as well as antiques that she collected throughout the years to family members for all to enjoy.  Her kindness and loving nature will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband: George; her children: Jeff (Sue) Jost, Carol (Keith) Summers, Tom (Shelly) Jost, Marilyn (David) Kasper, Ellen Jost; grandchildren:  Jeffrey (Britta) Jost, Chris (Lindsay) Jost, Dan (Leesa) Jost, Stephanie (Michael) Halbach, Danielle (Tom) Schneider, Lana (Pat) Kolbe, Kaylyn (Tyler) Figueroa, Valerie (Esai) Medina; great grandchildren:  Liesl & Warner Jost, Alexis & Wyatt Jost, Lincoln & Eleanor Jost, Aaron, Zach, Colton & Josie Halbach, Kenzie & Austin Schneider, Brynley, Ryan & Madelyn Kolbe, Levi, Jason, & Baby Figueroa due in June, Jaxon, Colette, & Vivian Medina; her siblings: Rita (Stan) Timmer; and her in laws:  Julie Juckem, Liz Juckem & Karen Juckem.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Tillie (Art) Kozminski, Sr. Mary Carol, Mary (Tony) Leonard, Virgina (Ray) Ries, George (Ellen) Juckem, Herman Juckem, Charles Juckem, Anthony Juckem, John (Erna) Juckem, Leonard (Carol) Juckem; and her parents-in-law: George & Helen Jost; siblings-in-law:  Leatrice (William) Parker, Elsie Juckem; and Gerald (Bernice) Jost.

My husband has known her for year. Me I only met Betty once. But I could tell she is one special person She gave me an angle for our tree a few years back for our Christmas tree and a coffee table runner which I will cherish always. Love to the whole family from Dave and myself
