Frederick J Klaeser

Chilton WI

Frederick J. Klaeser, age 82, of Chilton, died on March 11, 2026, at The Landings of Kaukauna. He was born December 14, 1943, in Sheboygan, son of the late Frederick N. And Lydia T. Klaeser.

Education was important to Frederick. He went to the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1968, followed by his Master’s Degree in 1977. He then became an English teacher at Chilton High School where he stayed until his retirement.

Away from a classroom, Fred loved pheasant hunting with his dogs near the Killsnake Wildlife Area. He enjoyed canoeing, photography, and spending time in the great outdoors with his good friend, Dale Voskuil. He was also very proud to be a Kennedy liberal.

Frederick is survived by his sons: Marcus (Gail) Klaeser, Christopher (Julie) Klaeser, and Matthew Klaeser; grandchildren: Melissa Klaeser, Amanda (Jerry) Hinson, Calvin Klaeser, Penelope Klaeser, Annika Klaeser (fiance, Titus Hammen), Vanessa Klaeser; and many nieces and nephews.

Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick N. and Lydia T. Klaeser; and a sister: Marilyn (Carlton) Goodrich.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 1:30 pm until 3:15 pm at the funeral home on the day of service.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Preceptor Hospice and the staff at The Landing in Kaukauna for their help and wonderful care.

Condolences

I felt a great sadness when I saw that Fred had passed away. He and Kitch and I became friends when Kitch sidled up to Fred for some free pets when we were visiting my sister at the Landings. I learned of Fred's knowledge and love of dogs and hunting and from there we covered a lot of different subjects including the Ice Age Trail. I always enjoyed our visits-such a smart and interesting man he was. I miss him very much. I console myself by envisioning out walking in a field with his dogs.

Two thoughts for Fred from Hamlet - The rest is silence. (Hamlet, Act 5 Scene 2) Goodnight, sweet prince, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest (Horatio, Act 5 Scene 2). Fred allowed us to learn through challenging us to explore ideas we didn’t yet grasp or respect. I loved listening to Shakespeare in his class. Thanks buddy for what you gave us.

In meeting for a weekly devotional and prayer time over the past couple of years, Fred became a very special part of that group. Fred stated his assurance he would be spending all eternity in heaven ... and loved hearing Irish tenor Ronan Tynan sing How Great Thou Art. While we will not be able to attend his celebration of life in April, we will continue to count knowing Fred a blessing in our lives.

Fred was one of my absolute favorites! We chatted about so many things these last few years. Shared the love of English Lit, animals * I was the one who gave him the stuffed replica of his dog he loved. I would bring my dogs to come see him. He cherished our cribbage games as did I. I saw him a few weeks ago and we had a wonderful time. I told him I would come in a week or two to play him a hand. He reminded me of my dad so much!

I have fond memories of Mr. Klaeser as a teacher and as the coach of the forensics team. Sending condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

Fred holds a very special place in my heart. I spent a lot of time with him in the last year and a half. Watching the news, wii bowling, documentaries, listening to music, walks… for the most part Fred was up for anything. I can’t believe that he is gone. He will be greatly missed.

One of my most favorite teachers at Chilton High School. Not only was he an excellent teacher but a mentor/friend as well. I remember him standing outside his classroom door greeting students coming into his classroom with a hello and a smile. He always inquired about when my basketball games were as well and he attended many of them. It was always great to see him sitting in the stands supporting his students. Rest in Peace Mr. Klaeser. You certainly were loved and respected by many!

Glad he is in a better place but sorry to learn of your loss. Lots of fond memories with Boy Scouts pheasant hunting and in the classroom. Hope your fond memories provide some comfort during this difficult time.
