George J Wittmann
George J. Wittman, age 85, of Hilbert, died at his residence on May 11, 2020. He was born December 16, 1934, in Appleton, son of the late Joseph and Erma Wittmann. In 1961, he married Patricia Gehl at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert.
George served his country in the Air Force following high school. He worked as a carpenter and mason most of his life. He liked snowmobiling and taught snowmobile classes in Hilbert during his free time. He enjoyed fishing and his time up in Eagle River as well as cooking. He was a season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers and followed the team since the Vince Lombardi era.
George is survived by his wife, Pat; brothers: Joseph (Olivia) Wittmann, Robert (JoAnn) Wittmann, and Arthur Wittmann; sisters: Caryl (Larry) Busse, Marilyn (Conrad) Knier, and Kristine (Steven) Kratke; sister-in-law: Andrea (Robert) Stephany; and many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Erma; Pat’s parents: Andrew and Catherine Gehl; brothers: Tom Wittmann and Dick Wittmann; brothers-in-law: Phillip (Sandra) Gehl and James (Marjorie) Gehl; and sisters-in-law: Linda Wittmann and Audrey (Gordon) Wolff.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with Rev. Michael Betley and Pastoral Associate, Diane Wickersheim officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

I met George and Pat back in 2005 shortly after I had opened my computer shop. I helped him on many occasions and always enjoyed our conversations about everything computer and non-computer related.
I will miss him and I am sorry I did not stop by as often as I should have.

Got to meet and work with George At Wittmann Landscaping. Always a smile on his face and lots of words of "wisdom". Learned alot about carpentry from George. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
