Gerald Gordon Gelhaar of Brothertown, Wisconsin joined his beloved wife, Joanne, in eternal life on February 17, 2023.  He was born to James and  Burnette Gelhaar on May 31, 1935 and raised in Milwaukee.  

He met and married his true love, Joanne (Wittnebel), when both were very young, and together raised five children.  Retirement brought them to Lake Winnebago, where they lived for many years.

Beneath an intractable exterior, Gerry possessed a deep faith, love of family, and strong work ethic, which he instilled in his children.  Joanne preceded him in death in June of 2022 after sixty-eight years of marriage.  

He leaves behind sons Gerald II (Kathleen) of Germantown; Jeffrey (Janel) of Sussex; Graham (Lisa) of Jackson; Anthony (Joan Ponzi) of West Allis; and daughter Kimberly (Thomas) Bloom, along with eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. 

His parents and brother, James, also predeceased him.

Gerry’s family wishes to thank all who helped and cared for him including, but not limited to, Agnesian Healthcare, Libby’s House of Chilton, and Almost Family Services.  Special thanks to Cindy for her compassionate and respectful care and companionship.

Memorials In Gerry’s name may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
