Grace E. Meyers, age 85, of Chilton, died on July 11, 2020, at Willowdale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in New Holstein. She was born March 16, 1935, daughter of the late Erwin and Leona (Ehlers) Suttner. On October 5, 1953, she married Norbert Meyers and together they raised three boys.

Grace was a member of Good Shepherd Parish in Chilton and a devout Catholic. She helped Norbert run the family farm and she was a homemaker and farmhouse cook.  She enjoyed polka dancing on the weekends and liked taking her time to go shopping, spending hours on buying everything and nothing. After farming she became an avid book reader and she was always happy with a simple life. Some chocolate or candy for her sweet tooth could always put a smile on her face.

Grace is survived by her children: Roger (Linda) Meyers and Robert “Oscar” (Peggy) Meyers; a daughter-in-law: Mary Meyers; six grandchildren: Nic (Danielle) Meyers, Emily (Ben) Ricker, Mark (Kari) Meyers, Charles (Shelly) Meyers, Jennie (Andy) Zahringer, and Matthew (Samantha) Meyers; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; her parents: Erwin and Leona; a son: Ronald Meyers; and her brothers: Erwin Suttner, Jr. and Roman (Bernice) Suttner.

The church is observing occupancy restrictions due to the COVID19 health guidelines. Friends may call from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 15, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, and again from 9:00am until 10:30am at the funeral home on Thursday. The family requests that visitors please wear face masks and refrain from touching during the gatherings. A committal service will take place at 2:30pm on Thursday, July 16, at the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg. A Vigil prayer service will take place at 7:00pm at the funeral home following Wednesday’s visitation.
Enjoyed working on the farm with Grace and Norbert when I was in grade school and high school . I loved her kindness and her providing a great farm cooking meals after bailing hay or picking stones . Thank you for being there in my life
