Helen A Klotz

Town of Woodville WI

Helen Ann Klotz, age 104, of the town of Woodville, went to her eternal home on January 9, 2025.  She was born on November 2, 1920, on the family homestead in Stockbridge, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Puetz) Theren.

As a child, she attended a one-room schoolhouse a few miles down the road.  Later she enjoyed attending dances throughout the area.  It was at one of these dances in St. John that she met her future husband, Edward Klotz.  The couple was married on June 1,1954, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockbridge.  Together they ran a dairy farm on McHugh Road near St. John, where Helen cared for chickens, tended a large vegetable garden, and raised her children.  Her garden was a source of pride for her and from it she canned her delicious dill pickles.  She was also an excellent baker, famous for her pies.

When asked the secret to her long life, her answer always involved drinking a good Old Fashioned cocktail, eating bacon hot off the griddle, lots of butter, and fresh cream.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; a son, Dennis; her sisters, Josephine Woelfel and Marie Reif; and other relatives.

Helen was a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society.

Survivors include her children:  Roland Klotz, Lynn (Robert) Much, and Doreen Klotz; grandchildren:  Landon Much, Tyler (Amber) Wilz, Ashley Much, and Emily Much; and her great-grandchildren:  Braydon and Colton Wilz.  She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (N7684 Co Hwy BB, Hilbert) in St. John with Rev. Michael Betley officiating.  A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until 11:15 am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery immediately after the funeral.

Condolences

My condolences to the entire family. Ashley was very proud of her Grandmother and I'm sure her absence will be felt by all.

My condolences to all the family, Helen was a special lady. She always made me feel like family when I was at the farm. She always had a big meal and desserts ready for us when we finished baling hay or after hunting. She and her sister Josephine filled me in on the mischief my dad got in at the dances in his bachelor days! She had a long life filled with love from her family. Keep all the happy memories close to your hearts, our prayers are with you.
