Irvin W. Zahringer, age 103, of Sherwood, died on November 21, 2024, at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. He was born August 18, 1921, in Sherwood, son of the late Nicholas and Amelia Zahringer. 

Irvin graduated from Hilbert High School in 1939, where he sang in the choir and played French horn in the school band. He farmed his entire life and liked the fall because then the work was done. He was a devout Catholic who never said a bad thing about anyone; he sang in the church choir and was a trustee for the Sacred Heart Parish. He was quick-witted with a great sense of humor. He was a member of the Sherwood Lions Club for many years, and he liked listening to polka music. Irv enjoyed vegetable gardening and a good cheeseburger.

Irvin is survived by his brother, Clarence Zahringer, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Amelia; siblings: Leo (Mabel) Zahringer, Walter (Catherine) Zahringer, Roman Zahringer, Ann Zahringer, Anita (Al) Hemauer, Alvina (Arthur) Campbell, and Rose (Arthur) Hemauer; a sister-in-law: Margaret Zahringer; and a very special friend of over 50 years: Jeanette Head.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 25, 2024, at St. John Sacred Heart Catholic Church (N369 Military Rd.) in Sherwood. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the church on the day of service. Burial will take place at the St. John Sacred Heart Cemetery following funeral services.
