Jane E. Hale, age 66, of Chilton, died on January 31, 2026, at her home. She was born May 20, 1959, daughter of the late Arlyn and Rosemary Vondra. She married Daniel Hale on November 15, 1980, and together they had three sons.
Jane’s journey with Dan began long before they officially met, as she worked with his mom at the bank. Although Jane was more reserved, her visits to Dan’s office to drop off paperwork, made an impression. After learning she was available, Dan finally found his opening when his mother mentioned Jane needed a date for the company Christmas party. He asked, she said yes, and that single holiday dance turned into a lifetime of love. The two were inseparable from that day forward, celebrating 45 years of marriage in 2025.
Jane adored her grandchildren and retired early to help care for them. She loved taking them on rides around her yard in her golf cart, and Dan says it was driven more at home than at the golf course. She enjoyed walking almost everyday when she was able, bowling, or playing a round of golf. Jane was part of a group of women that got together once a month to play dominos, and she greatly valued her relationships with her friends. She was an avid Packers fan and loved the Badgers and Brewers too. Family gatherings were her favorite time of the year as she cherished time with her family more than anything else.
Jane is survived by her husband, Dan; children: Matt (Stephanie) Hale, Ryan (Tami) Hale, and Riley (Lindsay) Hale; grandchildren: Lena Hale, Vera Hale, Logan Hale, Maren Hale, Lincoln Hale, Iris Hale; siblings: John (Cindy) Vondra, Tony (Pat) Vondra, Dennis (Gail) Vondra, Steve Vondra, Ed (Patti) Vondra, Mark (Pam) Vondra, Mary (Jim) Rogers, Joan (Bruce) Bryant, Cathy (Phil) Klein, Ann (Mike) Veith, Marty (Tonya) Vondra, Rita Vondra, Caroline (John) VanHerwynen, Paul (Marilu) Vondra; in-laws: Deb (Harley) McWilliams, Donna (Verne) Stuessy, Denise (Tim) Clare; and Dan's stepmom: Kay Hale and many nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Arlyn and Rosemary; Dan's parents: Doris (Bob) Clare and Donald Hale; and brothers-in-law: Craig Hale and Doug Hale.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until 3:45 pm at the funeral home on the day of service. Dan,Matt,Ryan,Riley and families, It's hard to put into words how much I admired your sweet Jane dealing with her health struggles these past years. She was truly a warrior smiling even thru her pain. In past years we became good friends and had great fun bowling,golfing and most recent years meeting for our monthly Dominos sessions.So glad I had these times and memories with her. To say Jane was a beautiful person, inside and out, is a true understatement. I met her first playing volleyball, then bowling, many great excursions and finally dominos. When the Dear Lord wanted an angel,he picked the best, and he did it in peace. RIP, my friend.

Dan we are so sorry for your loss. When we came up for a Packers game you were generous hosts. Jane made cinnamon rolls for us the next morning and it was a memorable time for us. She will be missed.
