Jean did a marvelous job in raising her children! When my mom was sick with cancer Jean paid her a most welcomed visit. My wife Lu & I had a nice lunch with Donnie & Jean a couple of years before Don got sick at Willard & Mary’s home on Artesian Road. Jean was prayed for often if not daily as she lived at the nursing facility in New Holstein. Our prayers are with the Holzer family. love, Tony & Lu Hemauer

My condolences to the Holzer family. I will always remember our mother (Dorthy Ertl) talking on the phone with your Mom and catching up on the latest news. Your Mom’s memory was amazing! She could remember everyone’s birthday! She was a good baker too. Every year your Mom would write me a 2 page hand written letter with her Christmas card and catch me up on how you were all doing! Who does that anymore! When I didn’t receive a letter the last 2 years, I knew circumstances must have changed. She was do very proud of all of you! Of course, I will always remember the farm, and the old house. I even walked up those stairs on the outside that went to the second floor to peak inside!! Your Mom came to pick us up once to go to Christmas midnight mass. It was a blue car and had plastic on the seats, which was pretty darn cold to sit on! Your Mom was always there to help out. She was such a good neighbor to our Mom and Dad. Such a blessing to our Ertl family that your family was our neighbor and will always have such wonderful memories of your Mom!
