Jeanette S. Koenig, age 86, of Chilton, died on October 20, 2020, at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee. She was born September 5, 1934, daughter of the late John and Amanda Keuler. On August 22, 1953, she married Jerome “Jerry” Koenig and together they had two children.

Jeanette devoted her life to her family and Christ. She was a member at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish in Chilton where she volunteered for the Ladies Aide group. She was involved in the community and also volunteered for the Salvation Army. What she lacked in physical strength, she more than made up for in emotional, mental, and every other strength imaginable. She left an indelible impact on everyone she met. She cared for and looked after her family in every possible way, and provided unconditional love without end.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Jerry; her children: Annette Koenig and Tom Koenig; grandchildren: Zachary Zeller and Hannah Van De Kreeke; siblings: Marge (Bernie) Gau, Norbert (Janell) Keuler, Dorothy (Fred) Escher, John (Cheri) Keuler, Jr., Mary (Paul) Fluhr, Diane Hess, and Sue (Ivan) Janousek; and special friends: Gloria Schwabenlander, Karen Doerr, and Shirley Roehrig.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, John and Amanda; sister: Ellen Keuler; brother: Joseph Keuler; nephew: Michael Keuler; niece: Jill Keuler; and a brother-in-law: John Hess.

Friends may call from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, October 26, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, and again from 9:00am until 11:00am on Tuesday, October 27, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staffs at Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton and Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, and the friends and family who have supported them through everything. The outpouring from friends, family, and the community has been appreciated more than words can say.

My family and I were patients of Dr. Theiler and Jeanette was such a friendly face at the office. I had young children then and many times I was there with ear infections, fevers, and such and she was such a comfort to me. A lovely, caring woman. My sympathies to her family.

I met Jeanette many years ago, even before we became neighbors. She was a beautiful woman both inside and out. I was often a witness of her kind and gentle spirit. She will be sincerely missed. Michelle, Jordan, and Stephanie

Dear Jerry and Family,
My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. I am very sorry we were unable to get back to you sooner but as you can see we also are dealing with the loss of dad from Covid as well.
I always enjoyed see Jerry and Jeanette in church these last years in Chilton. Always quick with a smile and a handshake or a hug. It was a privilege to get to know your family through the State Patrol.
Prayers for your loss and in your time of sorrow.

Jeanette was such a nice, kind, loving and caring person that was always soft spoken. We had many fun times together but some of the best were going with Jesus and Company to the youth masses and stopping for pizza afterwards! Lots of giggles and good memories. We will miss her dearly. Jeanette and Jerry have always supported my music adventures as well and for that I say thanks a million. Enjoy being in the loving arms of our Lord.

To Jerry and Children,
Jeanette was a classmate of mine at Chilton High School. She always was
outgoing, sincere and encouraging. She always took part in many school activities and did well. She
definitely was an asset to the school and a role model to her fellow classmates. In later years she was
involved in getting our annual Class reunions started and called me to mark my calendar with the date.
We always enjoyed out times with her and classmates. She will be missed by all who were
blessed to know Jeanette. May Jesus comfort your grieving hearts.
With sympathy, John Sivertsen & Gloria

To Jerry and family; to Jeanette’s siblings: My prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Jeanette always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. There weren’t too many times when she wasn’t with Jerry. What a team! She/ you did so much for the young people in our parish. I am so sorry to not be with you. God comfort you in the days ahead.

I was very sorry to hear of Jeanette's passing. I met her and Jerry through the church youth group, Jesus and Company when my children got involved. She and Jerry have been there above and beyond for our youth. She always had a smile and was clearly there to help all. Our thoughts and prayers go out for Jeanette, Jerry and their entire family, Bernadette, Ralph, Abby & Eddy Prescott
