Jerome F Ecker
Stockbridge, WI

Jerome F. Ecker, age 97 by his own estimation, of Stockbridge, formerly of Chula Vista, San Diego, California, died on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Willow Park Place in New Holstein.  He was born October 12, 1921 in Stockbridge, son of the late August & Bertha (Simon) Ecker.

He married his beloved Sophie and the couple enjoyed 30 years of marriage until she preceded him in death.

At the young age of 17, Jerome picked up and moved out to California where he helped manage the Otay Ranch in the San Diego area. He held such a passion for ranching his entire life and continued to do so until retiring at the age of 70.

In his free time, Jerome enjoyed time spent fishing and going on camping adventures with his wife.  He also enjoyed traveling to new and various places and never passed up an opportunity to share great times with friends and family.

Survivors include his siblings: Lucy Fennig, Elsie Popp, Clara (John) Meuer, and Paul Ecker.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerome was preceded in death by his brothers: Frederick (Myrna) Ecker, Arthur Ecker; and his brothers-in-law: Herbert Popp & Richard Fennig.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 10, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with Rev. Michael Betley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, August 10, 2018 when the service will be held.

Jerome’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Willow Park Place and Heartland Hospice for the loving care that was given to Jerome and his family.
