Jerry Watry, 91, of Lakeside Ranch, Winter Haven, FL, went to his eternal rest March 17, 2023, at Century Ridge in Chilton, WI, where he lived for the last ten months.
He was the son of Isadore and Magdeline (Karls) Watry. Jerry served in the Air Force in Germany from 1951 to 1955. He married Jacqueline (Langenfeld) Watry on July 31, 1954, where he and Jackie were members at St. John the Baptist church in Johnsburg.
Jerry also served as a volunteer fireman for the Calumet Fire Department for 19 years. He followed in his dad’s footsteps as a carpenter. Jerry and Jackie owned and operated Pipe Bar in the Village of Pipe for 15 years. He enjoyed his time on Lake Winnebago sturgeon fishing and water skiing on Berry Lake with family and friends.
Jerry cherished his time as a snowbird. He would summer in Wisconsin at Berry Lake and winter in Winter Haven, Florida. While in Florida Jerry married Rose Michels. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and camaraderie with his Floridian friends.
Survivors include three children: Gary (Audrey) Watry, of Malone, WI; Jim (Lynn) Watry, of Lakewood, WI; and Debra (Paul) Socha of Pound, WI; six grandchildren: Jesse (Keri) Watry, Jeremy (special friend Lu), Watry, Philip (Toni) Watry, Samantha (Mike) Socha Todd, Joseph (Alahna) Socha, and David (Sheila) Garnet Socha; and eight great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Romilda Vogel of Chilton, Bernadine Halbach of Kiel and her special friend Eugene Kohlman of Fond du Lac, Patricia (Paul) Rieder of Fond du Lac, Lorraine (Pete) Winkel, of Marytown, and JoAnne Thome of Johnsburg.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Jacqueline (Langenfeld) in September 2003; wife: Rose (Michels) in February 2022; an infant brother: Clarence Watry; sisters: Lucille (Edward) Halbach, Leona (Robert) Ortlieb, Angeline (Henry) Schuh, and Dolores (James) Halbach; and brothers-in-law: Ray Vogel, Edmund Halbach, and Moose Thome.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton. Friends may call from 9:30 am until 11:15 am at the funeral home on the day of service. Jerry’s service to our country and the Calumet Fire Department will be recognized at his service. A private family burial will be at the parish cemetery.

It was always fun to stop be and talk ,and sometimes talk to Jerry. Was ice at happy hour we would hear the putt putt of the pink jet ski going by. We only knew Gary, Audrey and Jim but our condolences to your whole family.
