Jerome W "Jerry" Koenig
Chilton WI
Jerome W. “Jerry” Koenig, age 90, of Chilton, died on September 21, 2022, at Willowpark Place in New Holstein. He was born April 22, 1932, son of the late Gregor and Thekla Koenig. On August 22, 1953, he married Jeanette Keuler and together they had two children.
Jerry worked for the State Patrol for 31 years before retiring, and although he received many awards throughout his career with the State Patrol, as well as countless other achievements worth mentioning, none of those could hold a candle to his greatest joy, which was educating youth. Creating the Jesus and Company youth group through Good Shepherd Catholic Church was his crowning achievement.
The one thing Jerry boasted freely about were 'his kids', the past and present members of Jesus and Company. His face lit up every time he spoke of them. Whether they were planning a trip to Great America in the summer, Holy Hill in the fall, or the huge youth group bake sale at Christmas time, it was all done with his wife, Jeanette, Dale Gebhart, and countless other supporters as a labor of undying love for them. Over the years he watched them grow in faith, and expand their horizons through further education, careers, travel, marriage, and even starting their own families. Jerry, with Jeanette by his side, left an indelible mark on his church and his community through his tireless love of and devotion to Jesus and Company.
Jerry is survived by his children: Tom Koenig (Leisha Brandl) and Annette Koenig (Kurt Coffin); and his grandchildren: Zachary Zeller and Hannah Van De Kreeke (Ethan Belau).
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette; and his parents: Gregor and Thekla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:15 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 12:30 pm until 5:15 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. A committal service will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, September 30, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. The family would like to extend special thanks to Marsha, Lindsey, and all of the caregivers at Willowpark Place, Calumet County Hospice, Karen Doerr and Rocky, Shirley Roehrig, Dale and Mary Gebhart, Eric Gebhart, Sarah Weber, David Weber, Jeff and Gloria Schwabenlander, Fr. Jon Thorsen, and Leisha Brandl, for their constant outpouring of love and support through visits, phone calls, special treats, and so much more.
In lieu of flowers, Jerry asked that donations be made to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Chilton or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Condolences
Sorry that we lost touch many years ago.Jerry's mother Thekla was my father Leonard's sister. Jerry and Jeanette were about 8 years older that me. As a youth, they were my role models. I have been in New Hampshire for 31 years. I would enjoy a note from the Koenig clan.

My condolences to Jerry's kids and grandchildren. Jerry was a wonderful man. He has a special place in my heart as not only was he my chaperone for my first out of state trip in 5th grade to Washington DC but then had the privilege to be part of his start up of Jesus and Company. Loved the trips our group took to the church in Oshkosh. And the largest impact was the weekend retreat he encouraged me to attend in menasha. He played a huge role in so many youth's lives!!! Rest in peace, enjoy being reunited with the love of your life Jeanette!!!
