John O Bombard
Chilton, WI

John Oliver Bombard, age 60, of Chilton (formerly Sanford, FL), died on May 9, 2021, at Ascension Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born in Sanford, FL, on February 25, 1961, son of Richard (Cindy) Bombard, and the late Betty Bombard. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps where he worked as an airplane mechanic on the flight deck. He married Tammy Hartzer on August 20, 2010.

John enjoyed his work as a forklift operator, starting for Senoco in Florida and relocating to work for KayTee in Chilton. Eventually he went to school to become a Licensed Massage Therapist mostly to better take care of Tammy and her medical conditions. Some say he was a boring man, enjoying being a “gamer” more than anything else. In fact, that is how he met Tammy: playing World of Warcraft online. He always described himself as nothing more than a big asshole, but in reality he was a big teddy bear who was very kind and sweet to almost everyone. His children joke that he was a bit clumsy, and although he loved to barbecue, his food always came out burnt or raw.

John is survived by his wife, Tammy; his father: Richard (Cindy) Bombard; seven children: Dan Elle Bombard, Jade Hampton, Tricia Horton, Renee Horton, Darian Horton, Tyler Hampton, and Christopher Ide; 10 grandchildren; and sisters: Wanda Bombard, Linda Bombard, Susan Bombard, and Thelma Bombard.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Bombard, and a brother, Russell Bombard.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of John Bombard. Cards and memorials can be sent to the Wieting Family Funeral Home ℅ John Bombard 411 W. Main St. Chilton, WI 53014
