Joyce E Goeldi
Chilton, WI

Joyce E. Goeldi, age 82, of Chilton, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  She was born November 21, 1935, daughter of the late Henry & Katherine (Schmidt) Fromm.

Joyce began her working career driving the rides for a traveling carnival before transitioning to being a telephone operator.  She was also a bartender who worked for several establishments throughout the area and was well known for her German Potato Salad that was served at numerous graduations and wedding receptions over the years. Joyce did daycare for many children over the years, and is considered family by many she helped raise.

She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Chilton where she participated in the Chancel Choir and the bell choir.  Joyce remembered fondly the trip the bell choir took to England where they were able to share God’s love through their music.

Joyce appreciated life at every turn and cherished the many memories that she and George made together throughout their years.

Survivors include her son: Jeffrey (Debora) Goeldi of Racine MN; 3 grandchildren: Michael (Shannon) Goeldi of McFarland WI, Nathaniel (Shannon) Goeldi of Grand Meadow MN & Jacob Goeldi of Orlando FL; and a brother: Roger (Rosalie) Fromm of New Holstein WI.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: George; her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: George & Hedwig Goeldi; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and 4 nephews.

Funeral service will be at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Ebenezer UCC (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with Rev. Michael Safford-Kennedy officiating.  Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Chilton.  Friends may call at the church from 3:30 pm until 5:15 pm on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
We will miss our good neighbors, George and Joyce. But for both of them, having new heavenly neighbors isn't such a bad thing either. Our sympathy to the family left behind. Ed and Deb Rollmann

Sending my sympathy for your loss. Wishing you peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Judy Woelfel (New Holstein) - June 4, 2018

Joyce has been a dear friend since our Bell Choir days. Oh what fun we had on the first trip to England where we toured and played bells for a week! And her German Potato was so delicious....and was the hit of my children's graduation party. Joyce's beautiful smile and cheerful personality will be missed. Jeff, you were the apple of your parents eye....I send to you and your family my sincere sympathy. Lynn

Lynn Merino (Friend) - June 4, 2018

Sympathy goes out to Jeff
and family, for losing both
parents so close together.
Joyce was an exceptional
lady, who would give of herself
without any questions.
She is now with George
forever in their Heavenly
Home. She will be missed.
May you rest in peace, until
we meet again.
